So Jerry is still plugged in but as long as his guitar cord is lengthen he has enough freedom to move around the stage. I guess they have not perfected the wireless setups yet to be able for Jerry to be totally free without any cords. One day they will be able to perfect that in a truly wireless scenario? That Aura pedal with Fishman really captures the magic of the dobro sound. I know resonator guitars/dobro are already the loudest acoustic based guitar out there but depending on other equipment used an amplified instrument(electric guitar) should overpower the unamplified instruments. Maybe the help of a good sound engineer could make a slight difference.

Fwiw 2 years later, any 1/4” signal chain can be patched into a wireless transmitter receiver. Yes, physical cable is best for sound quality, but wireless rigs have improved in recent years. Of course, the good ones cost money.

@@tomrwills yeah well the Jerry Douglas Aura is more or less of a one trick pony. It's awesome for what it is though, the best way to play live with a Resonator guitar IMO.

I’ve seen Jerry with two different stage rigs, both with separate electronic tuners. One rig has a TC Electronics Polytune; the other rig had a Boss TU-3. He also doesn’t tune straight up 440.

Yes, Jerry's signature Aura pedal is designed for resonator guitars only, but the Aura Spectrum DI uses the same technology for any acoustic guitar and many other stringed instruments - www.fishman.com/portfolio/aura-spectrum-di-preamp/
