There is a track behind that was played and recorded close to the 6 minute mark by him ,watch the nods. He then solos the high notes and its faded towards the end,back to solo.He's Slick, but who's gonna back him?? Hey, even SRV played rhythm on songs on Texas Flood album, Love Struck Baby has a rhythm track.It's still 3 piece.....with a rhythm and vocal track.Awsome!!!! These guys are in a league of their own.

When someone plays a traditional Japanese koto, they move the frets. Watching Douglas play the dobro reminds me of this. He is wonderful to listen to.

I first started listening to Jerry Douglas after he was introduced to me by younger brother Frank who was becoming an aspiring young guitarist about 35 years ago. He is definitely good at his craft. Too bad nobody ever figured out how to replace elevator music with Jerry's solos. Even Zamfir would be better.

Some of his best work, in my opinion, is on a 1979 Tony Rice album called Manzanita. It’s a benchmark record and features Sam Bush and Ricky Skaggs as well, among others. For anyone who may be new to this guy or his music, if you want to hear some incredible playing, check out that album. One of my “desert island” albums.

Jerry Garcia also I believe! Love that album

It's the album I always recommend to people who think they might like bluegrass, but always bring up Deliverance when you mention the banjo.

You ain't kiddin. Ive been listening to Jerry Douglas since in the womb (literally, mom tried to play some) and he never ceases to amaze me. That Manzinita album is INCREDIBLE!

Silas Neale your very welcome, I will admit the motives were of a personal and selfish nature (I wanted to capture it so I could watch it countless times myself), but it is always rewarding to know others enjoy it too :)

Does anyone know the name of the song he plays?
@chriswalker18266 жыл бұрын
Lauren Wilson Caplan it’s a medley of sorts. He starts off playing a tune called A Tribute to Peador O’Donell and ends with an old Allman Brothers song called Little Martha. Not sure about the song (or songs) in the middle.
