Always felt like Koko Ware was a good young talent, needed a title around his waist, but there was only one back at that time, and it belonged mostly to Jerry Lawler, I think if memory serves he did when the TV Title at one time. Believed he also a coholder of the Southern Tag titles at one time.

Koko also had the Mid-America title for awhile before he left for Bill Watts' promotion.

for yrs,the only Memphis belt was the southern hvywght. title.Later additions were a mid America title.,television title.austin idol brought in the international title(possibly)A.W.A. by then

The Mid-America title was one of the prime belts for Nick Gulas and was defended primarily in Nashville, Chattanooga and Birmingham. When Gulas finally got out and sold out to Jerry Jarrett, the belt was retired fora shot time before Jarret revived it when the roster got so big they needed another belt to defend on the Buttermilk Run shows (the B-shows in the smaller towns). Idol, since he billed himself as the International Heartthrob, was billed as the International champ when he came back to Memphis in 83 or 84

@XxmxriderxX234 (mind you that's all I told him)... He gets a crazy (happy) look on his face and says "HE was a Bounty Hunter!, I remember them! You look just like them!" (he thaught Jerry and David were actually brothers lol) and he remembered a real glitzy black guy being their manager that I had completely forgotten about untill I did some research... the one guy (Jim Lancaster) was the only one I remembered from pictures I had seen at Grandma's.

@XxmxriderxX234 I lost touch with everyone when my dad died in '95. I have been thinking of looking a few of the Family up. I just came back (to Ohio) from Florida and on the way back (for the second time in my life) I was asked by a complete stranger if I was related to Uncle David. This older black guy in a gas staion in Georgia out of nowhere says "did you used to wrestle?" I said no and that I had an Uncle that did waaaaaaaaaaaay back, and that he was a tag team champ at one time.
