The shriek that you hear @16:28(upon realizing her film won!) is that of my mother-in-law, Kathrine Dana Shaw, the producer of the Doc Short, "The True Story Of The Civil War." She is 97 and currently lives in Los Angeles w/her family.

"The silent World" is a fantastic documentary about life in the deep of the oceans. Jaques Yves Cousteau was a brilliant man who co-invented scuba and was a great filmmaker. PS, young Mercedes McCambridge was really quite beautiful and did not yet have that husky voice she was known to have later.

Jerry was a sharp minded, hard driving businessman. Not a buffoon. You confuse his movie roles with his reality. Just like John Wayne was not a cowboy. He was a Hollywood actor. Period.

I feel like that's normal for most men as they hit their thirties, their metabolisms slow down. Besides he was really very skinny in his early days and sometimes looked kind of gaunt, he is just a normal healthy weight here tbh. And as others have said in the early 60's he got quite skinny again.

El Maleh Rachamim is a Jewish prayer for the rest of the departed. God, filled with mercy, dwelling in the heavens' heights, bring proper rest beneath the wings of your Shechinah, amid the ranks of the holy and the pure, illuminating like the brilliance of the skies the souls of our beloved and our blameless who went to their eternal place of rest. May You who are the source of mercy shelter them beneath Your wings eternally, and bind their souls among the living, that they may rest in peace. And let us say: Amen. Rest peacefully sweet man!! 😥

It's been too long since a New York portion was part of the Oscars (indeed this was the last one). With so much filmmaking being done in New York once again, it's time that the NYC portion be reinstated permanently.

@jorhay1

Some people just don’t find him funny, which is preference, not hate. Technically speaking, his delivery, timing, add libs, body angles, reactions, and repertoire of zingers, is basically flawless textbook comedy. It’s true he made people laugh, that was his job. When he died, he left his wife of decades, and his children, nothing. Raised a fortune for muscular dystrophy though. All men and women are flawed. Jerry was no exception. If you ever had the chance to bump into him off stage, your glowing view of him would probably change. He wasn’t a very nice, or even happy man.
@marym5037
@marym5037 5 жыл бұрын
@@jorhay1 I do not think that I would really care about that to be honest with you! I appreciate the man, his genius, and his work, and I personally always found him very funny. If he wasn't nice to someone or was unhappy it is really not my business! I can only feel for him and I know that no one is perfect! That surely doesn't change my mind about his talent or the joy he gave me through his movies and his theatrical performances. His personal life is his definitely not mine :) Moreover, we really do not know ANYTHING about his will! His son Chris stated that he left all of the rights to his movies and everything he has ever done to his boys. The will is just a document and there are other ways to leave things to your children. I don' t know what he did or what he did not do! I don't know him or his children so I let others judge the situation...I don't do that kind of thing! And yes! I wrote "hate" because I read several hateful comments directed towards him by people that obviously don't know him at all! I found that extremely mean! That's all!
