Nice change of pace. If I remember correctly, Chet Atkins made sweeping popular and Jerry Reed was an in demand studio guitarist in Nashville. I remember a story about Jerry Reed and Elvis. Elvis wanted to record one of Jerry's songs called Guitar Man, but no one at the time could play it except Jerry, so they had to hire Jerry to play it on Elvis' album. Jerry was out fishing on the Cumberland River, when Elvis' people called for him😀

Amazing work by both of them. Makes me wish I had the patience to put the woodshed time in. If you liked this, you should also listen to some from Chet Atkins and Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits who did an album together called “Neck and Neck”. Some really lovely guitar work by both. I would recommend “There’ll be Some Changes Made”.

Watch the movie East Bound and Down. Jerry was acting in it and didn’t like the music they were going to use so just wrote the soundtrack himself instead. Great old movie with a great soundtrack
