Stack was intriguing for sure. Didn't realize he was so inefficient tho. I remember him as one of those highlight producing dunkers of the mid to late 90s. And he had those signature Filas too.

An underrated bucket 💯 ironically, every team he was traded by (Sixers, Pistons, Wizards, Mavs) got back a player that was big for their future success (Phi-McKie & Ratliff, Pistons-Hamilton, Wizards-Jamison, Mavs-Marion)
@mangrove Жыл бұрын
The '01 Pistons were going to be bad, and Joe D filled the roster with expiring contracts and tradeable assets in order to clear up space. The only two reasons to watch that team were (1) to see how many points Stack could get, and (2) see why Joe wanted Big Ben so badly.

Stackhouse was a prime chucker. He averaged a lot of points on extremely poor efficiency at the highest points of his career. He averaged 30 points per game on 24 shot attempts and only shot 40% on those shots. He missed 14 shots a game. There’s a reason teams he played on never won anything when he was the #1 option. Is he a forgotten player of that era? Yeah. But he isn’t underrated. He’s rightfully regarded as a guy who could score a lot of points on poor efficiency like a lot of guys from that era. He’s rightfully rated it I’m being honest
@xclusive2807 Жыл бұрын
@@SCep34life ehhh he is inefficient. But let's be real, even the greatest scorers miss a lot of shots 🤷🏿♂️. Not saying stackhouse is a all time great, and Ian saying he deserves to escape the chucker label but realistically does that effect anything? Cause nobody was heavily into analytics until a few years ago

The '94 Heels would have absolutely waltzed to a repeat title if Donald Williams hadn't gotten hurt. What made it worse was that he kept trying to play the rest of the year despite being totally ineffective. If they'd have shut him down and committed to Stack, McInnis, or Calabria at the 2 they still would have been the odds-on favorites. It's the second most frustrating what-if in program history after "what if Stack, Sheed, and McInnis would have hung around to play with Jamison, Carter, Okulaja, and eventually Cota?"
