Its sad but true, many states are driving citizens away. The good news... you have a choice and many people are voting with there dollar and moving to the land of pleasant living. :) Its not like your a tree with roots in the ground and can not leave the area you were planted. I too lived in VA for 7 years and made the move to Myrtle Beach. Hope your having a great day. See you in the next episode!

Also, The housing costs are far lower. I live in a decent home in Massachusetts, (not a shack but nothing spectacular) It is about 45 minutes to the ocean by car. The house I bought is far nicer and it is a 10-minute walk to the beach. When I sell the house in Massachusetts I will own the house in SC outright with no mortgage.

Hey Jerry, just found your channel and was listening to your advice about buying condos and I have to say that you absolutely are right on the money. You gave me some very good things to consider which I haven’t found anywhere else. I’m looking for something along the Jersey shore but so far been disappointed by some of the stipulations these building managers are demanding regarding exorbitant management fees (one place wants 40% and is closed from November to April!) ..but anyway keep up the great work!

When running the numbers in other resort towns, it is a common problem. Lack Of -or- Short Rental Season! Many resort towns 'up north' just don't have enough rental days. since the summer months are usually the only income time, the numbers usually just don't work. Of course, many of the fees are the same, but when the beach weather gets colder, so does the rental income. The good news is here in Myrtle Beach, we get vacationers Year Round! Like 17 million a year! In the offseason here, we have many golfers (85 golf courses). Around any holiday week like Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years''' etc., the best resorts are always booked solid. Also in the winter months, we get "snowbirds" or retirees from up north who will rent an oceanfront condo for 2 or 3 months to get out of the weather. Now the winter rental income is not going to be high...but income during the winter is nice! In the spring season, we see many spring breakers, along with many festivals and events all the way through and up till the summer months when the real cash comes in. Hope this makes sense? @@JerryPinkas I’d be interested in learning more about Myrtle Beach. I think having year round rental potential is definitely a major plus.

My property tax keeps going up and I live in Ohio... My ideal goal would to invest in a few condos and have one just for me so I can come and go back and forth to Ohio as much as I please..
