Almost 4 years now since I bought this phone and untill now it's alive. My Mix doesn't even have a tempered glass, and still no scratches. I'm so amaze how strong this phone was. The original protective case passed away in just 1 year after bought but the phone still looks new. My mom still asking me to give the phone to her until now she still want it. this test surprised me! It made it through everything and I was expecting that it will definitely snap in half and didn't know about ceramic buttons too! Definitely do a drop test along with other devices. I would like to see drop tests as a new part of the tests of every phone! BlackRaven i really suggest JerryRigEverything to drop it from different altitude until it shatter. i find out something about glasses which are slightly cut that they will crack somehow due to the damage from earlier. ceramics is no different. and it depends on the topography you dropped your ceramic. dropping it flat probably won't crack it but if there is only a bit of pebble or sand, things just might get different.

Holy shit. I'm impressed, a glossy gorgeous phone that WONT scratch, ever. Now thats interesting. Love my S7 edge, but despite NEVER having had it anywhere near keys or coins or anything harder than a plastic table, it has already accumulated countless microscratches on the back panel, luckily only visible in direct full sunlight. Just kinda makes me wonder if the whole "hardness pick" thing is really representative or not. I've literally NEVER had my phone touch anything harder than wood or plastic. Yet the back has all those microscratches. If the hardness pick tests were representative of real life, then my S7 wouldnt have any scratches at all, unless i had hard edged / pointed metal coins or keys rattling around in the same pocket, or laid it flat on a stone table with grains of sand, and slid the phone around on that.

You may have placed it down on a wooden or plastic table with tiny sand/ dirt particles. Those can scratch up the glass. Besides, some people pick up their phones off the table by dragging it a certain distance before lifting it off the surface. That drag if coupled with a sand/ dirt particle will be more than enough to scratch it.

You are wrong. Sand is mostly quartz which have a hardness of 7. This phone scratches at 8. So, unless you are walking around with diamonds/corundum/topaz in your pocket, then you have nothing to worry about.

I think it might be more reasonable to test bend with a uniform weight or something. Perhaps something like ten and/or twenty pounds across the middle while it's held at each end by clamps or something. Also, a drop test would be great, maybe starting with the included case and then without it (assuming it survives) so that people know whether to commit to using it. Simulating a one foot desk drop, three foot sitting drop, and a six foot standing drop would probably work. This is a great phone design, though I think with the bezel-less setup, it could be a 5 or 5.5 inch display and still seem larger than phones of the same size. 6.4 inches is just way too large for a phone IMO, phablets were never something I enjoyed.

The screen size doesn't actually tell the size of this phone. Comparing to iPhone 7 Plus it's just 0.15 inch wider, 0.02 inch taller and 0.02 inch thicker. So basically, it's the same size, while the screen is 0.9 inch bigger.

Mateusz Żukowski You're right, it's roughly the size of any other 5.5 inch phone, not really in phablet territory. I think the massive sceen makes it seem larger than it actually is. I still am more a fan of 5" phones since I've had a Nexus 5 for years now, but it seems that the 5" form factor is on the way out and I'm just going to have to adapt to a slightly larger phone unless I want a handful of devices that may not have the features (or price) I want.

Ceramic is also used in speakers body armor, tiles for floors, heat resistance (insulation from heat), its used for sharpening knifes and it melts at 1050 Degrees celcius so its also used to melt metal. Its like the carbon atom of the modern world, we only see it in useless forms (just like coal) but it can make amazing things (Diamonds, Graphene, Hyperdiamomd threads, Nanotubs etc) :D
