Jersey Collecting Advice During Set Update

My collection is only about 15 jerseys so far but you were the reason I wanted to start collecting some jerseys in the first place. I’ve been collecting a lot of other things besides jerseys as well but I’m hoping once money becomes a little less tight I can start to add some new jerseys as well.

I came for The Hockey Guy, I stayed for the Sabres gear (even though they haven't been good since 2010). Nice gear man, Vanek is still one of my favorites. So poised, makes things look effortless. His classic slap shot in shootouts/ around the world five hole move. Been hoping he'd break out for another team, but he hasn't really found that rhythm since Buffalo as a journeyman. Still crafty, but nothing compared to the 2007 team with Drury, Briere, Roy, Kotalik, Pominville, Conolly, Afinogenov, Stafford. My all time favorite team ever, performed well; then we traded away our success the next year starting with Drury and Briere. But yea, your collection is insane man. I dig seeing all the gear you have, it's pretty cool.

My jersey collection is modest. I only buy jerseys with names and numbers- no blanks. I have 10 Blue Jackets jerseys, a military camo of Bobrovsky and then three road whites, 3 home blues and three cannons. I also have some of the all time greats Howe, Orr, Gretzky and then maybe 10 others. I'm not out to get every team as there are some teams I just don't care for their jersey (Rangers, Flyers, Kings). BenH just raised his prices, but eventually I'd like to get a Flames and a Jets jersey and at that point I'll consider my collection complete.

Been a while since I've been able to add to my collection, but the NHL Shop was selling a Reebok Yotes for $60 a week ago so I managed to get it \o/ While my collection originally started as just hats, you've shown that jerseys are a viable collector's item too. Slowly but surely growing my collection. :)

I agree with you that blanks are timeless, and I've always done that. A buddy of mine finally broke down and spent money on a Byfuglien. 3 weeks later he was traded . The only time I might make an exception is that the Blackhawks away, white Jersey looks COMPLETELY different and better with numbers/name. The black numbers with red trim gives it a "brown" look on the ice, that doesn't happen with a blank. Great video brother

I collect soccer jerseys and full moon jerseys has been great to buy jerseys from. Usually they are $90 and getting them for $20 per give or take is an absolute steal. Thanks Shannon.

Word of advice to new collectors, figure out what you want to collect, whether it's every jersey your favorite team wore, or all 31 teams, or just special event jerseys, etc. It's YOUR collection so it's up to you on what you want it to look like! Feel free to explore options too! I started out wanting to collect 31/31 teams but moved onto collecting now just VAN and PIT jerseys. It saves money for me and I'll know EXACTLY what I want next time I want a jersey.

You aren't kidding about the shipping across the border. I bought a hockey card (Jack Eichel Young Gun) from a place in St. Kitts. It went right away through Toronto to Mississauga then it stalled. I'm in Tennessee, straight south of Buffalo. A week and a half later it showed up again and had gone to Vancouver and was in Spokane. Then it had to come all the way back across the country LOL. But hey, it's crazy times we're in.

Even though when I did buy Inno sweaters at Cool Hockey, they'd arrive hand stitched after I'd ordered pre-stitched. Saved a little, and got them all fully hand stitched. Now I do my own stitching, so it's not an issue.

Ive been collecting for awhile but money is kinda tight in these situations ( im also saving for school and trying to be money conscious as well) I know that JerseyBaron BenHSports FullMoon are really good and I also go on the occasional big retailer website but I'm definitely looking for a holy grail in Canada's Vancouver 2010 Jersey with Iginla on the Back and Pittsburghs Lemieux 90's white jersey both in Medium or Size 50 but the real thing so wish me luck

I always buy my jerseys on eBay and you can find some REALLY good stuff dirt cheap or you can get scammed and get a fake. It’s a gamble but definitely worth it if you know what you’re doing

I always enjoy jersey videos. I have a jersey collection, but only Sabres jerseys. I am trying to get one of every style they've had in their history. I have a black goathead, buffaslug, 2018 winter classic, current home, and the 50th anniversary alternate. Still looking to get my hands on a royal blue original, as well as several alternates, such as the red cross swords and Buffalo word mark jersey. I don't really want a turd burger jersey haha

I tend to order mediums because they fit in all sizes, though Adidas are, in my experience, a tighter fit than Reebok. They are pretty similar though.

Okay, go look up a definition of a set, it's a place in which you film. We have set lights, microphone, two cameras, the background is the penants and the jerseys. There is a desk, not that that has anything with to do with it being a set. It's actually not a basement but okay. Not sure why you care so much about what part of our house this is.
