That is how JJP rolls! When I called them out on Facebook for all the pooling on my Wonka LE, they blocked me from their Facebook page.

As a JJP owner, I will probably never buy another JJP for 3 reasons. 1. Code neglect. Not only have they not kept up with these nor finished some machines, they actually removed a feature we paid for (Scorbit) with no replacement in site. Meanwhile I get code upgrade emails from Stern every week - crickets from JJP & I don’t even own a Stern. 2. Cost. At $10K, JJPs used to be best bang for the buck. Since TS4 JJP started removing assets (playfield lcds, Mechs, etc) yet raised the price for piss poor themes. 3. Communication. As mentioned, we get emails from Stern every week with what’s going on in the pinball world, code updates, Stern of Union, badges, contracts, all the fun. JJP sends an email if we’re lucky every 3 months selling t-shirts we don’t want. Avatar was released with no mention of Pinball Connect leaving JJP in the dark ages compared to Stern. So JJP has too far to catch up and with those reasons mentioned, I’m out

Hell yeah. Love the content. Not a theme for me, but I hope it's an amazing game. Awesome that it has movie assets, and visually it looks amazing. I wish more companies utilized a blacklight to make a "double playfield" image. Bottom line, we need good competition amongst pinball makers, so I am rooting that they do well. Overall, if the playfield has a durability roughly equal to Stern, my opinion vastly improved. Underwater themes are so much fun and hypnotic, even though I'm not a big fan of Avatar. If it shoots well, I might even reconsider my stance on the theme.

I absolutely agree with your initial criticisms and I share them too. JJP has burned their bridges w/ customers for NOT finishing code on previous releases. POTC owner here.

I like the idea of JJP supporting small businesses too. Maybe they can offer my PinDoc Playfield Rotisserie with all replacement playfields to address the chipped/pooled issues we have seen. Lets start with GNR. Woohooo! ;-)

Looks pretty, I like the lighting. I think you spent a little more time on chipping than needed. You didn't even mention the total # of flippers or what you thought about for ball count or possible modes or anything. I mean I guess they'll tell us eventually but in the past I've liked to hear your predictions.

After seeing the teaser trailer I am more excited for this table than any other JJ so far. I don’t care about the theme, but the layout looks great and the table looks beautiful.

Even some of the ramp flaps aren't flush with the playfield which is a huge concern. What's the deal?

JJP makes gorgeous games. But my GnR didn’t last long. I just didn’t find it very fun to spend game after game flailing at multiballs. And having to “bullet proof” the PF to prevent chipping was a chore. This game looks great but the devil will be in the game play, chipping PF, and cost. The lower PF looks interesting but I had one on AC/DC and it was more looks than substance. Can the market absorb another $13k game? Distros are flush in stock right now.

I think partnering someone like McFarlan to make toys, etc. is really smart. I agree this game might be one of the prettiest games and that's saying something after EJ. Only time will tell how it plays, but if JJP learned their lessons post EJ this should be a fun one. Can anyone afford this game? Few... I trust someone in our beloved DFW area will manage to scoop one of these up.

The CE is absolutely gorgeous, the under playfield is great as the UV light effect with top notch movie assets….but for me the theme instantly kills a possible purchase.

Well this puts Stern's Avatar to shame (not hard to do but still). Sure looks nice and the UV hits the spot! JJP never disappoints on looks, is always whats underneath that disappoints. Time will tell how it shoot and how the code plays out. That will make or break this pin. Thanks Cary for another great vid.

I think we can pretty much guarantee that production models of the game will have a cliffy there. It's not uncommon for the proto games to be missing stuff like this

This layout actually looks decent. The mini-playfield looks cool, haven’t seen one of those since Munsters. Seems as though they’ve course corrected since Elton John, which was necessary. Looks visually stunning for the nighttime effect.

@@aaronsilva5784 I just don't understand why people are so negative this way. That is your opinion, my friend. Another miss?... I'd argue the exact opposite. I'd say Stern does almost all the 'missing'. Everything JJP does is excellent. My Dialed In is light years better than anything Stern has ever done. If I had a theme being made that I wanted, JJP would be right in the running with several others. Stern is about profit and they have demonstrated this continuously. There is nothing wrong with this... however, they show no passion. That doesn't mean the people who are designing the games have no passion because that's not true. The corporate structure does not care about going the extra mile to make a game great. They choose saving two cents every time. All of this said... I'm not a tournament guy or a nitpicker. Nor do I care for the themes that JJP has made, including Avatar. I could care less about a chip in a playfield. I want the most value for the money and value, to me, that doesn't mean it shoots well. It means that the game costs more money to make. At the end of the day, I hope for everyone who makes pinball to do well. I find some of the Stern Army to be extremely ignorant and are the type of people who will cut their noses off to spite their face.

I think they’re kind of like Tesla in the sense that they make pinball machines for people who don’t like pinball machines, so they focus on all the wrong things. Playfield QC/operator concerns aside the things that drive me nuts is that all their games seem to have terrible sound design that doesn’t match the theme, gaudy slot machine video graphics that tell you very little in a lot of space, goober scoring, milquetoast theme selection in general. The presentation of their most “tournament viable” game, Dialed In, is 3d GIF tier embarrassing. I’m gonna take a wild guess that people with very questionable taste are in positions of great power at JJP

It’s upsetting if that is damage as it appears. But we will find out more soon. Games are just getting so fun and good. It’s an exciting time to be in this hobby. JJP has made all of the companies step up and make better games.

It's definitely got my interest, art is definitely nice. I like the various pf areas, like the subway windows and mini pf. I'm not interested in X-Men at all, can't come at any more comicbook themes, even if JD's design is decent. I didn't think either Stern's or JJP's releases would get my interest, but this actually could.

Jersey Jack teaser has a scoop chipped and right next to the scoop is a left ramp entrance with the metal piece bent up. Customers fault obviously. The coolest thing about this game is the UV light. This theme does benefit from UV. CE backglass is beautiful. LE looks like garbage. LE cabinet art also looks like poor. X-Men pro looks better than the Avatar CE and I'm....was...a huge JJP fan.

I'm more excited for Alice in Wonderland over anything else. Plus, this is JJP we are talking about. It looks pretty but I wouldn't want to own it especially when it comes to handling issues. Spooky is #1 when it comes to handling problems

This will definitely blow Stern's Avatar out of the water, just like JJP's Pirates of the Caribbean was vastly superior to Stern's in every aspect. What is disappointing so far is that there don't seem to be any cool mechs like the moving armoured suite that was in the Stern release. Lots of ramps and diverters to keep the flow going very much in the same vein as Godfather. New pinball tables are always exciting none-the-less.

I have both the JJP and Stern POTC. I actually prefer the Stern game. I also have a Godfather CE. It's really a terrible game/ layout. :( That being said, I love my other JJP's (Oz, Hobbit, Toy Story).

@@asdfhiuh Lucky that you have so many JJPs! You are probably one of very few people who can compare both manufacturers POTC side-by-side. You have to admit though it is extremely impressive what JJP was able to pull off with POTC with very limited assets. The game is full of class and had amazing A/V including callouts from a member of the movie cast. It is a shame that the fact that Stern had the licence first is likely the reason that a lot of people did not pull the trigger on JJPs version. Many didn’t realize how good the game was until it was too late and JJP pulled the plug ☹️

@@iglasner Don't get me wrong, JJP's POTC is a fantastic game, I just prefer the simpler to understand/ play Stern game, (plus I have the film score/ voices on my Stern machine, so that is kind of a wild card when comparing the two games).

Sorry, with a $12k and $15k price tags this is a hard pass. Don’t want to loose $3000 off the bat. This game screamed for a large upper playfield than a crappy lower playfield. Cliffy needs to hire someone to help him.

To be honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed by how it looks. The art isn't doing it for me and the toys look tacked on not integrated into their surroundings. I'm more of an Avatar fan than X-men (not at all really) but based on the two reveals I would take the X-Men. Love JJP's other machines but I feel like this one is a miss.

Zero interest in the Avatar. That said, I had zero interest in Elton and ended up buying one after playing. Will need to get some game time to make a decision. One of my big concerns is the number of multiballs and how often you are thrown into one.

@@joshual2289 bingo, I came here specifically to say the same, the small rectangular seems a ball lock, the two larger 'bubble' shapes, one we know is a sub playfield, the other may be the same, or perhaps something else, maybe just scenery? We will see Thursday

I like it, for me I am more interested in this than X-men. I am not a marvel guy BUT I won't be paying JJP prices for this unless gameplay turns out to be the best JJP yet then maybe.
