The 1st clip is from right near my house. The organisers failed to explain to us that the track would completely cut us off from leaving or entering the property.

sorta happened to my gf. its kinda odd considering im pretty sure the road is one way and loads of ppl live on it

I dont know if it was different for you. But the organisors do send a letter to every household affected with a map and writting to explain when, where it will be closed and how to access your house if needed

Oops. They do try to get all the competitors through as swiftly as possible so that roads aren't closed for any longer than necessary. I believe they aren't allowed to overrun. It's a very rare event in British Isles. Nothing like it on the mainland. Lovely place. I visited Jersey for the first time in order to see this event.
