Jersey Shore state of emergency sparked by 'unruly, undisciplined' children | LiveNOW from FOX

Police in Wildwood took action to keep residents and visitors safe after a Memorial Day weekend filled with chaos and some violence caused unrest along the Jersey Shore.
A state of emergency was declared in Wildwood early Monday morning after police say an "irrepressible" number of calls involving an "extremely large number of young adults and juveniles" overwhelmed the department.
"Wildwood will not tolerate unruly, undisciplined, unparented children nor will we stand by while the laws of the state tie the hands of the police," Wildwood Mayor Ernie Troiano said in a statement. "We wholeheartedly support the City of Wildwood Police Department in protecting this community from these nuisance crowds on our boardwalk and in the city."
The chaos in Wildwood comes after large crowds of teenagers caused even more mayhem a few towns over in Ocean City, which ended with a teen being stabbed and several arrests.

For their kids to learn nothing except how to undermine their rules lie cheat manipulate and steal from their families and disrespect and disregard their rules! There's teachers who did everything but tell the truth to parents about how they're kid was doing in school. All the while calling off work to take someone elses child to get gender affirming surgery & hormone replacement injections at the age of 12! Parents wether they work 9-5 or make 5 figures working only 100 days A year? All entrust the education system with they're children for 8 hours of the day. So ya we're ultimately responsible for trying our best to mold honest hard working caring respectful young adults! But school settings are places away from home wear they have real world experiences and interactions with their peers to learn how to implement everything their parents try to teach them. With teachers for guidance in how to handle and resolve disagreements among other social situations & problems that arise just from being A teenager! They cant force they're teenager to always tell them the truth about where they'll be either! They have to give them some freedoms and trust that they'll make good decisions! And I vacationed out of town with friends and even my boyfriend who was in the air force at the age of 15 and often times was even better behaved than other adults around me! The only time mine didn't know where I was! Was during the RODEO CHEDISKY FIRE in Northern AZ back in like 2001-2002 I was out of town in Showlow with my best friend and Boyfriend from Luke Air Force base packing up his parents woodland home before evacuations were announced! But because of the state of emergency phone lines were overwhelmed with all circuits busy for over 15 hours. Many road closures leaving only one way for over 45,000+ residents to flee! A drive to the valley that would normally take 3 to 3 1/2 hours to make! Took almost 10 hours due to heavy traffic minimal infrastructure for our roads making an exhausting stressful drive. One that led straight to the first motel in Mesa his parents could find rooms available at! When watching the news still unable to get through to my parents cause they were also tying up the line trying to find me. I noticed my name flash across the screen on A Red Cross still missing persons list! I was able to get through to them to let them know where I was, they informed my mom when she called again! Anyways parents with the best intentions for they're kids that discipline them raise them right are not guaranteed that they're kids are gonna be well behaved or not! Are your kids perfect? Are you or were you as A teenager? You should think and consider other possibilities for someone's bad behavior than automatically blaming the parents! You probably think yours are angels when in reality they're just master manipulators who've got you wrapped around their Lil fingers! You should watch the movie Thirteen then tell me if you still think it's all the parents fault!

Wildwood is always the same. Early in the season young people can afford to be there and there can be a little trouble. Peak season and it gets expensive, it is mostly well off families on vacation and it settles down. In September when kids are back in school, the families leave and the retirees take over for Sept-October. I would not go to Wildwood in May in any decade.

I tried to advise my son on several things, it didn't work. There's only so much you can say to some teens. The parents can punish them however by first letting them know to not hang around other teens who cause major chaos, and then take away their cell phones after a certain hour for a couple weeks.

That would be foolish. If you put unruly youth into military schools, you just train them to be deadly, older and stronger unruly young men and women. The self-control issue needs to be dealt with first, through appropriate consequences , before ever they should be put into the funnel to become first-line defenders of our country. These young men and women are already causing the problems because they possess not self-control or even the desire to act civilly. Don’t give them more and better tools to be able to act out. You are right they need discipline, but it needs to be via a different system (criminal system is where this used to happen in some states-so long as liberal and woke politics were not part of the picture) and they must prove they are no-longer a threat to society and themselves before getting the privilege to go into military training.
