the last opponent's deck was the best deck I have seen in this standard, and probably every standard ever in the game's history. there wasn't even one moment I didn't laugh from this masterpiece. his demon gave two options and said "choose your demise" and then he literally cast a boardwipe for fun. 13/10 it has a little something for everyone

I'm not going to argue it's a good strat--its not. However, if you're going to play Bridge, you want all your permanents to be real monsters. That would involve 4 Bridges, and then a bunch of 1-ofs of huge creatures. By having a big deck, it makes it so you can widen the ratio of non permanent to permanent cards in the deck. However, it means you won't find the bridge as often, which is the whole point of the deck.

I remember way back at the beginning of the streak, CGB played like this esper control combo deck what some of the best play I’ve ever seen. He called out every play his opponent made and played around them all perfectly. Match went on for like an hour it felt like from how dense it was.

I dont think I can ever remember a time when a opponent pulled a "Magic is easy" on CGB like that. Also Shuffler is fine,I felt the pain of that match every step of the way.

Worst of all, you can't even say it was the shuffler, because cgb also drew pretty much all gas and the bridge whiffed quite badly sometimes. Like, cgb got nearly all opus, velomachus and all invokes barely 30 cards in. He just had no way to remove the bridge, which is too powerful an engine to win against.

That final game was what I always feel like my opponents do to me haha. I don't play often so I start out bronze every month and it feels like my opponents are always playing some awful janky pile of 100+ cards and somehow hitting all the best possible cards on curve every time. It's very frustrating!

Over 1 year later: I've faced DiDZTM twice on ladder in recent times, and you'll be pleased to know they're not only still rocking 5-color nonsense piles, but they've upgraded to using all 200+ cards in their collection. Took me to the cleaners in one of those games too. The legend lives on.

Hey @Covertgoblue I just wanna say thanks for the last two years. After a long Magic break I started playing Arena during the last Theros and found you channel. Ive watched almost every day since. But now? Im quitting Arena. The matchmaker is just ....so bad. Its the premiere reason to why I am not haveing fun. I uninstalled the game yesterday. CGB, it was your reactions that completely sold the last game against the Prismatic Bridge player. Between the outrageous gameplay and your responses, it sort of became everything a child ever dreamed a game of Magic could be. I would also like to say, as a player of a singleton 243-card Mardu deck with a learn sideboard in best-of-one, that there are a lot of advantages to disrupting your opponent's expectations. I think I heard someone's head explode once when they used a Test of Talents against me and there was a protracted pause as they tried to make sense of my deck (and load it on their client).

I've played another version of this deck recently and it's pretty fun when it works. It is a bit inconsistent though and if you meet Test of Talents it's just auto scoop basically. Actually VS Esper it seems almost impossible to win with all the counters and exile effects.
