Thank you for the video, the etching part is really interesting! I have been coating white styrofoam to look like stone walls but I recently ran out of Jesmonite ac100. Would the AC730 be very similar and not damage the foam? As I noticed the product is cheaper and in stock most places.
@MBFibreglass3 жыл бұрын
The AC730 is jesmonite's cement based system, (the ac100 is gypsum based), it can be used in a simialr fashion as the ac100 although its a little more viscious to pour in comparison to the ac100. Coating the polystyrene generally shouldn't be a problem but worth testing a small kit to ensure it suits your requirements.

@@MBFibreglass Thank you for the reply, I purchased ac100 to finish the styrofoam. However AC730 looks very useful and will be something I will try in the near future.

Is it strong enough as an overlay on existing tiled floors with appropriate prep of the tile?
@MBFibreglass3 жыл бұрын
we've not heard of anyone else doing this, maybe best emailing the manufacture tech team for information.

What kind of silicone is that? I'd like to make my own molds to do the jesmonite in.
@MBFibreglass3 жыл бұрын
The particular rubber used in this demo is the Polycraft S-30 RTV Silicone, the Polycraft GP-3481-F RTV silicone is also very popular

What are the difference between jesmonite and resin
@MBFibreglass3 жыл бұрын
Jesmonite ac730 is an acrylic modified cementitious composite, most other casting resins tend to be epoxy, polyester and polyurethane.
