I follow a great artist who embraces OOPS. Carolyn Dube translates this as Outstanding Opportunity Presenting Suddenly. And I can see that you, Claire, have embraced this 👏. There is no such thing as ‘disasters’ just ‘opportunities’ to stretch your imagination. Well done for rising to the challenge 😊😊

It's an unfair question to ask "would we have continued with it?" - you continued with it because it's what you do - you show us your disasters and how to fix them. Me, I make stuff that I can hopefully sell. I would not have continued with it. Full stop. For me it would have been throwing good money after bad, knowing I couldn't sell it. But...I love that you finished it and that you came good at the end. And it is beautiful. Another great video. Thank you x

That turned out beautifully. You were wondering what we would do. Here goes. I would have put it away for later as you did, cried and after calling myself an " idiot", then I would have gone for the glitter along with the tattoo/stickers and some kind of sealer or varnish and/or figuring just so it wouldn't be a total loss, brought out the resin again, already weighs a ton, might as well be a little heavier." then I believe glitter hides a multitude of 'sins' so I would have glittered it. When I am crafting, my house is where you can get glitter into every crevice on your person! You did an amazing rescue! You handled it with grace and courage. Thank you, Claire❤

To turn a disaster into a success is a testament to your abilities as an artist…we all learn for our mistakes & sometimes it’s the best thing that could happen…the best thing to do is walk away like you did & come back to it & give it a chance to turn from an ugly duckling into a swan 🤗

But I love your determination to give this project all you've got! I do agree with you....the tattoo you put on last couldn't have been more perfect! Wow! What a story! I really didn't think you would be able to save this piece! But the result with this tattoo is absolutely brilliant! So a big congratulations! And the colours you chose are beautiful. What a pity that the resin didn't work: there too, the colour was superb.💙💙💙 I once had an exothermic reaction with resin and I can understand why your heart went crazy! I also put it outside in the garden but I still don't understand why it had this reaction. Fortunately, it never happened again but I have very bad memories of it!😏
@ClairesCraftyCorner

@@ClairesCraftyCorner Glad that I could return the favor of making you laugh! LOL. I had “voiceover Claire” in my head the other night while I was trying out yet another plaster of Paris experiment that started going really wrong really fast. I think the pot & lid is salvageable, but it definitely needs a good bit of sanding. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Also, I wish you could see my solution for getting rid of bubbles without having to do a lot of tapping. That would for sure make you laugh, but it works! I took the thick foam insides out of a pair of women’s vibrating house slippers that someone gave my son as a gag gift for Christmas a couple of years ago, and I balance the filled moulds on the vibrating soles to release the bubbles. I’m sure it would be easier just to attach the little motors to a more stable foundation, but that wouldn’t be nearly as much fun. 😂😂😂

@@ClairesCraftyCorner I’d never heard of them either. They were too small for my son. His real gift was the cash that was hidden inside, and he gave the slippers to me. So what causes that to happen?
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 2 жыл бұрын
Heyyyy Amber .. the cause of this was heat. Resin cures itself through heating up. Each Resin has a different work time. The longer you leave Resin sitting in a cup ... the hotter it gets. The hotter it gets the more likely it will flash cure or go exothermic (same thing) but the smoke flies out from it like its about to catch fire which is why the PPE is so important. This resin is fast curing 5 hours only ... so the work time is really reduced because of this. And ... I left it sitting in the cup too long 😢😢😢 I hope I've explained it OK xxx
