DIY Puff sleeve dress - Refashion Men's Shirt into puff sleeve dress - How to make Square neck dress

Hi everyone!
I'm so happy to welcome you back to my channel. I know that summer is over somewhere in the world. But I still can't get our of this Square neck dress. So I decided to make one for me.
This dress is transformed from a Men's shirt with the size is Small size. So if your size is bigger, you need to go up 4cm each side (total 8cm) for the bust at one bigger size.
This is a very cute and vintage dress. Because it has the puff sleeve and I also choose the pink color from the shirt. Therefore, it's suitable for a casual day out with friends or even on the weekend.

I finished mine and i love it! my only recommendation is to make it a little bigger than hers because she seems petite and you can always cut fabric off or take it in but it hard to extend one you’ve already cut it.

Very nice project. Here in North America, we call this a "men's button-down shirt", mostly, not a "t-shirt". For us, t-shirt are casual, no buttons, and, hopefully, cotton jersey. Thanks for sharing!

Well, I made it! Unfortunately, my shirt wasn't quite big enough at the top and it through off all the other measurements. It came out really cute but too tight across the chest and hips. I don't have any fabric left so there's nothing I can do about it except give it away to someone smaller than I. 😞 But I do have a couple of men's XXL shirts, so maybe I'll try again. Very nice and creative. Just so you know it's not a t-shirt you working with but a shirt. T-shirts have no buttons or collars and are usually made from a knitted cotton not a weave. Keep making lovely videos!

Feedback from someone who actually made this (and a beginner): it turned out super cute, but not without issues. I used a 2xl womens shirt with no issues on fabric quantity. I thought since I am also a size small I wouldnt have issues following the allotted measurements, but I was wrong. The pattern presented is pretty unclear as to what measurements will go where and what should and how to adjust for size I think this would be pretty easily corrected by posting written instructions and point out where it needs adjusting (could be done in the description or on a blog if you have one). If you are larger than a size small you might struggle with this tutorial and the best advice I can give is to adjust for the bust and cut as wide as possible and make the main adjustments on your dress form. I ended up messing up the puff sleeve portion and scraping that part entirely as the sleeves for a 2xl woman did not end up resembling a man and it messed up the placement and subsequent breast area. I scrapped that and went with thin straps which ended up looking nice instead. The step where you cut the back in the same outline as the front will lead to too high of a placement of the back piece. Instead I ended up cutting and creating an open back effect. The dress will also likely end up being too short for most people making this and I fixed this by edging it in ruffle. Overall I loved this tutorial and idea, but had to make some major adjustments along the way!

And everyone needs to adjust to their own body sizes when making it. This is one of my very first tutorial on my channel. So I didn't add the way I came up with my measurements to help the others to adjust easily. But I learned and tried to fix it in my videos after that.
