Shocking to find another person obsessed with punk,ska and folk punk. Yet loves George watsky as much as I do. His song writing is fantastic because he comes straight from writing and peotry. Then you add on what hes able to create musically to go along with it. Also yeah I see the similairities in some of your faster songs to his cadence and I really appreciate it.
@machinejuice59653 жыл бұрын
Fuck world trade and songs from under the sink absolutely rule my world. I discovered both bands around the same time and I know it's kinda cringe to say but fuck they mark a very transformative point in my life. Erik Petersen's song writing is extremely enlightening and full of love and rage, and Left Over Crack is just glorious gritty crust full of sarcasm and distain, while feeling still fun and full of the right messages. Choking Victim's No Gods, No Managers will always be an album I'll love deeply, but everything Left Over Crack has ever done is gold. great list killer taste dude
@dublj573 жыл бұрын
i remember hearing those records for the first time at an afterbar around '06. i picked up a shitty acoustic guitar in the corner that was missing a string and started playing along. needless to say, the punks were amazed at my ear for music
@punkhippe3 жыл бұрын
Weird that you have the exact same opinion as me. Both those albums absolutley rule and are definately two of my top five records of all time. I also kinda agree that no god no managers is maybe a better record but I have a childhood nostalgia for fuck world trade as a moment in time. Idk man, it's weird I just say someone say my specific opinion on the internet.

Sum 41 don't get enough credit. They are usually overshadowed by Blink and other bands, but they were my first favorite band. I was a Puerto Rican kid from NJ and when I moved to FL, I didn't listen to anything "white". I was pretty much a little du rag wearing, hood kid. And I met my first white friend and went to his house and he gave me All Killer No Filler. He said it was pretty good, but he didn't like it that much. He didn't even realize how he instantly opened my mind to different music and made a permanent impact on my cultural influence.

when he brought up oliver tree's ugly is beautiful i couldnt help but slap my knee, everyone with whom i've talked about that album jus takes it a little too memey and dont see it as a legit enterpretation-worth album, ive followed oliver basically since alien boy came out and fucking cried my ass off listening to im gone, and the lore behind his stuff along with the ironic self-aware society criticism makes him one of the all time best punk artists in my opinion, even tho his song stile isnt really punk rock, he makes music with revolted punk meaning
