This interview proved it all for me even though I knew it already. My fav bike is the Sturgis special. He built it climb on and drove 1400 miles. Paul Jr. builds a bike climbs on and drives it to the next gas station. My Father is an school biker and raced Top Fuel Harley's in the 70's and he built it HIMSELF and was a World Champion. As true bikers..it's not just the build but the ride. Jesse is THE SHIT. He's a true biker and that's what this shit is all about. Be true.

My buddy worked @ OCC back years ago. He said "that place is like Disneyland" They CNC everything, while he hand made all their sheet metal work (tanks/fenders) on their bikes. He got into bike building because of Jesse James. OCC built or shall I say "assembled" nice bikes but they weren't practical or they were comic book themed. I personally would much rather have a El Diablo Chopper from WCC than ANY bike OCC builds.

He still has it in his garage today and it still runs like a champ. The motors are crate motors anyways. Those bikes will run and last as long as you take care of them just like any other bike.

Yes of course he doesn't ride it everyday, he has other bikes for that ,but yes that bike most definitely can be ridden out of state. There's not a bit of plastic on that bike. Now to give you the benefit of the doubt I can understand that maybe some of these bikes are so extreme it wouldn't be advised to ride out of state or long distances at that. It wouldn't even be comfortable ,but that's what those theme bikes are built for, show. Do I think Jesse James builds better bikes of higher quality? Of course ,but to take away from Orange county choppers is absurd!

I agree with JJ. I see this shit A LOT in my profession. Whether it be at SEMA or CES. I really liked the early bikes Jr built like the Black Widow and Comanche because they were hand made and him and Vinine would stand behind the bike and create something unique and cool Jr was in the fab shop cutting and bending parts and welding everything together and everyone was having fun at that time. I think later after they got famous and moved into the big building no one looked like they were enjoying themselves anymore, pressure deadlines etc.. The later bikes looked like they just threw together parts from a catalogue added a few custom items and called them done. Jr went back to his roots with this bike which was a hand built show bike and he deserved to win. Jesse had a good point but he showed up with a nothing special very safe Jesse James type build and that's why he lost.

Design yes. Building... I don’t know. I’ve seen episodes where they actually cut into the frame to make pieces fit. That’s extremely unsafe and would render the bike unridable. I also saw them use super adhesive two sided tape to hold pieces down because they couldn’t figure out how to weld or bolt them on in a hard to reach area. I sure wouldn’t want to spend 120k on a bike that had parts held on by tape. I’d also love to see what that warranty actually covered. Either way, I guess if you got 100+ K to spend on a bike, you got the money to get it fixed too.

Wow, this was a while ago. O.C.C. were famous for building Christmas Tree Bikes. Take a Chopper, and just hang "Ornaments" all over it. Jesse was famous for building bikes from scratch. Hand forming sheet metal, welding, and Manual Machining. Years ago I was at a show. 2 guys were arguing over why their bike was better than the other's. The winner announced, this is why he won, as he kick started his bike, and rode out of the Armory. The other bike was a Chrome Statue that didn't run.

Honestly, in a fist fight, Junior beats Jesse's ass. I know a guy who grew up with Jesse and went to Las Sierra with him. He said the that Jesse constantly talked shit untill one day Dave Cruz beat him senseless. Jesse didn't come back to school for 2 weeks because his face looked so bad.
