Really nice looking fly. I would have trouble getting them past my grandchildren to take them fishing I think. It looks a little like a disney character! The fish will love them. I just use hackle stems for antennae. That plastic may last longer though. Nice products. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean

When would you ever use this pattern?

+Andy Witt Bee's are active through a lot of the year, even on warm sunny winter days Bee's can occasionally be found buzzing around near the water. Anytime trout are on terrestrials this fly will work like a charm. Also works well as the top fly with a nymph hung under neath it, and I really like using it behind a griffith's gnat or al's trico when little tiny bugs are coming off (especially in early spring and very late summer). Bee flies with lots of legs like this are also a great fly for panfish and bass early in the morning when both bee's and fish are moving around feeding. Plop it down near the bank, or by overhanging brush, and it will surprise you how effective it can be.
