I ran a 71 340 Dodge Demon back in 73 and 74. I was in E/S A. I got help from Direct connection in tuning the thermoquad and it worked very well. Back then you had to run stock exhaust manifolds. We could run a cool can under the hood.

I wish I was alive in the early days of Stock just to see how difficult it was but at the same time how much simpler it could have been. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe to my channel if you could!

I would love to do Stock Eliminator, maybe W/SA, but i don't think my Slant Six could push far past the index because of class rules.

No stock 340 ever did a wheelie. What do they allow that makes em 3 sec faster. 340 like that in the day ran in the 13s on cheater slicks 7 in. I see they are allowing big tires now.

Any corporate transmission and rear, lightweight stuff, tall gear ratios. High stall torque converters, better r&d now.
@HemiSlant6828 Жыл бұрын
While 9 inch tires may have been big back in the day, they are considered small tires nowadays. But considering your question, it's more or less the evolution of the sport. Not to mention tire technology back in the day wasn't as good as it is nowadays.
