I'm old enough that when Affirmative Action began. It really made times hard for me. I am a white female. There could be four of us in the room for a job. I could be the most qualified for the job. But the white man would get the job first, then the black man, then the black woman, they would then come and tell me they were so sorry that they couldn't hire me even though I was the most qualified. I went through most of my working lifetime with this BS. I grew up in the 70's, and was a member of "Up With People" I don't care what color you are! I don't care how you pray to your God! But I did care that my qualification didn't matter at all!

And to illustrate how things have changed - now preference is given to (roughly in order) a gay black woman, then a black woman, then a black trans 'woman' (a man in a dress), a white trans 'woman' (ditto), several different ethnic minorities, a lesbian woman, a gay man of any minority ethnicity, a gay white man, a straight female, a straight *_white_* female, some stray dogs found in the streets, cockroaches, worms and - finally - straight white men. These days, regardless of your qualifications, as a white female you'd be about 8th on the list at best. If you're straight as well, that puts you down to around 14th. Think yourself lucky that you're not a heterosexual white man (what is a "man" anyway? And why does nobody ask *_that_* question?).

Hey Doc, I'm an old white guy and agree 100% with qualification trumps (pardon the pun) skin color when it comes to the best candidate for any job. 15 years ago I was in a hospital being prepared for major heart surgery. I was blessed to have, in my opinion, the best heart surgeon in my state scrubbing to perform open heart surgery on me, the son of a coal miner that achieved through his own hard work and diligence a respected career in medicine. The fact that he was a black surgeon wasn't even a consideration. I thank God daily that that man was the best qualified for the job at hand. "Peace & Love", Brother!

I think there was a rumor that Robert went to MLK's funeral (and he didn't) and there was some bad things said about Republicans at the time. After that the Democrats just kept on with the manipulation and vote buying once they saw they were making progress. Somebody correct me and fill in the blanks please. Love your Channel Doc! ps. You are absolutely right about the "K Group". That was the southern democrats response to losing the civil war. They formed a secret society to rule by intimidation (cross burnings etc) And, since Black people had very little personal/political rights back then (this was way before Civil Rights Act obviously) .... they just fell in line and now 90%(?) of the Black population (all minorities?) vote Democrat. If there is any group of people (No pressure 😉😁 ) that can make this country better and save it - it is the Black population of the United States. Just need a certain percentage to flip. It wasn't until MLK, who was a Republican until the day he died, delivered the Negro vote in large numbers to Kennedy, a Democrat, which made him President in 1960. JFK, Robert Kennedy, and MLK worked together on the Civil Rights Act but JFK was assassinated in 1963. Johnson, who was Kennedy's VP, became President and he began working with MLK on the 3rd Civil Rights Act. The other 2 Civil Rights Acts were in 1866 and 1870, they both dealt with citizenship under the Law. These were Treaties that were never acted upon or passed by a US President. LBJ signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act in 1965. The voting rights act caused most negro farmers to lose their farms and livelihood. Before he left office, he signed the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Robert Kennedy DID attend MLK's funeral, I saw him and his wife on TV! So, in summary, most negros were Republicans in the 50s until we switched over to the Democrat Party in 1960 to vote for Kennedy, who was a Democrat and we generationally kept voting Democrat or didn't vote at all. The Democrat Party did something then that they are doing today, giving handouts, like welfare; welfare at that point was only given to the whites but under a socialist bill in 1965, we were included. They grant us holidays, i.e. Juneteenth, to keep us voting Democrat for the last 64 years of the 200 years that LBJ predicted and we STILL have not been treated as Americans under the LAW or according to the 1776 Constitution & Bill of Rights! Now they are REPLACING us with immigrants from other countries. As Americans, many of us, First Americans, NOT AFRICANS, should've been "grandfathered" into the Constitution of 1776 along with the Bill of Rights. Other things were going on in the background that are too numerous to list but one thing is for certain, we have TRAITORS among us and they sit in high places!
