Kenny, man that fence and miter assembly is quite a piece of engineering. A far cry from clamping a straight edge to the tabletop and calling it good. I am really looking forward to hearing how you like it after you have had a chance to use it a bit. Enjoyed both videos of the setup of your shiny new router table. Thanks for sharing.
@acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words on the show Paul. It is definitely a step up from the rustic setups of yesteryear but then again, the setups of yesteryear didn't cost as much as the newer setups of today and they were just as effective. Let's hope that this router table setup earns its keep. Thanks for tuning in sir. You can expect a review after I get a chance to run it through its paces.

Thanks Ken, excellent demonstration on putting what appears to be a very nice router table, fence & miter assy. together. I too " wood " like to see it in action. Nice job squaring it all up. What I think I'm not seeing is a micro adj. to the fence itself, although the twin tracks outside the table surface looks like a smooth operating system. I'll take a closer look at this router table system before making any decisions... Bill on the Hill, Vermont... :~)
@acutabove_woodworkings4 жыл бұрын
There is no micro adjust on the fence at all Bill but the adjustments are easy. The operation of the fence and lift are smooth and as I said in response to your comment on part 2 of this series, I am hoping to film a review show for this router table and lift, very soon. Thanks again for tuning in and if you have any questions about the router or lift, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd be more that happy to help if I can.

Great video on the system. Have you tried the offset feature on the fence allowing it to work like a jointer?
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
I have tried the routing Mary and it works quite well. Edge jointing on my old router table was a matter of clamping a thin piece of stock to the out-feed table. With this system, I no longer have to bother with the clamping and setting up the included rails to offset the fence is quick and easy. I did a show on router table edge jointing years ago with my old table. Maybe it's time to revamp the episode and produce a show for edge routing on the JessEm table. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show. It's very much appreciated.

Kenny can u tell me where the shims used for edge planing go every where I store them they fit loose if u show that I miss it somehow
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
The are stored on the horizontal surface of the router fence's base. There is a slot that fits the T-track in the shims perfectly. I have posted a picture of it on the channel's facebook page and you can view that picture here. facebook.com/photo?fbid=231623645030390&set=a.215701379955950 I hope this helps K R. Ken i live in australia and i love this table because it does not have insert plate,insert plates are nice but i like this table better because it does not have insert plate.Round hole better, In australia you can buy this table when i was looking at a online shop it show a white table.I like your table better ken. Hey ken do you like incra router tables or woodpeckers router lifts.Ken your jess em router table is top class.Ken have you seen the incra table saw fences you can rip precisely .Ken i own a sawstop cabinet saw and a felder planer thicknesser AD741.Ken when you said you need a day put the jessem router table together ,it would not surprise me. Ken keep up great work.
@acutabove_woodworkings4 жыл бұрын
A lot of the lifts that are available on the routers nowadays, are made by Jessem. I believe that the Master Lift systems used by Incra are made by Jessem as well. I have seem the INCRA system for the table saw and I have toyed with the idea of purchasing it but I love the setup I have now and I have to wonder how much use I would actually get out of it. So far, I love this Jessem router table and I am hoping to build a cabinet around it in the next couple of months to store my other router accessories. I have never seen a Jessem table in white but I'm glad that I got a black one. I had a white table years ago and it didn't take long to look old and tired and stained. Thanks for tuning in to the show Shane. I appreciate your kind words and I look forward to your future comments on the program. I hope you will find more content on the channel that interests you.

@@acutabove_woodworkings I bought the new fence and the new mitre slide to be complete with the tool setting. I saw on the Festool Owner Group that people combined the TA fence the Incra position and this mitre:)
@acutabove_woodworkings3 жыл бұрын
@@hgohlke that would be one heck of a great set up. The INCRA position is a quality tool and you can really dial in your work. I did a show a couple of weeks ago on JessEm's micro adjuster for the router table. I love this thing and your can really make the finest adjustments to the fence setting. @acutabove_woodworkings5 жыл бұрын
I hope you contacted Jessem and had them replace the pieces James. For the price of this system, there should be zero flaws. I haven't noticed any such difference in fence plates and in fact, the pieces that I have run have been perfect and the fence plates have been true. Glad to hear that you like the videos. Thanks for tuning in to the show.
