Holy sh!tballs, what pace to maintain for such a long course. Most of us would take 30-60 min to get down that. That's moving time, with another 30-60min of break time to get rid of arm pump, look at the views, having some water... Weird finish too, through the streets - I would have missed a turn for sure at those speeds! And that wall of TV's at the end - better hope the brakes are still working at that point, LOL!

That was one hell of a stage!! We all make mistakes and even though we can't change them in the heat of the moment we sure as hell can learn from them. I noticed something after your 2nd crash. You got up and started pushing super hard but made a few more smaller mistakes almost immediately but then I saw you calm down and ride smoother which let you charge in a better way. Then that third on was just what I call a WTF moment that happened so quick but you stayed calm got back on track and pushed hard to the end. It sucks and I understand but good job in calming down and not taking yourself out completely!!

Jesse, could you possibly make videos on training (even with the MGM crew)? I notice how heavy your breathing is, but you seem fairly composed while at the limit. When I'm racing locally (only XC trails/races here), when I hit the point of max heart rate and heavy breathing, I start to black out/want to throw up kind of feeling and can't push further. Is it cardio training that helps keep a consistently high heartrate and breathing while racing?
@tylerbruce57313 жыл бұрын
Get yourself some power meters to train with.
@JesseMelamedMTB3 жыл бұрын
It's party the training and knowing the limit at which I can still ride at. There are moments where I go over the limit but I make sure to bring myself back into a zone where I know I can still function. The more training, the higher that limit is.
