Another idea. Slightly harder. Start with full bronze squad. Any player gets over 10 points free upgrade to silver. 20 points silver to gold. 30 points gold to amethyst. 40 points amethyst to Diamond. A win gets you a free upgrade to any player. Win by 10 or more free upgrade. Win by 20 or more 2 upgrades. All I can think of for now.

Every loss means you lower the tier of player. Gold to silver. Silver to bronze. Lose by 10 you lower 2 players. Lose by 20 you lower 3 players. Etc.
