So the reason why there was a lot of tension there was because Jessie doesn't act like the "typical Korean woman' due to her New York attitude since that's where she was raised so many of them in the show especially the girls judged how she talked and acted and where she was brought up as a child. She also called out so many people on that show and even one of the male judges lmaoooo who had a problem with her even though he denied it

Nah cause in order to know if someone is a good person, you need to see how Jessi acts around them. Jessi is brutally honest so she doesn’t fake her emotions, for example, Jessi never liked that girl Jimin from AOA and she openly expressed how she felt about her. A few years later it was revealed that Jimin actually bullied her members and was a horrible person. Jessi knows what’s up and she doesn’t hide it.

nah y'all are tripping. It isn't even sure Jimin bullied Mina, but she took the bullet to not affect her group and members. Y'all didn't give this girl 1 inch of doubt, just because you didn't liked Jimin and now there's a whole lotta evidence that Mina had been lying all this time and Choa and Jimin tried to protect the group. But you are turning this into a T-Ara 2.0, because you all like to get about "I would rather belive a victim than a potential bully"-attitude, when Jimin and AOA might be the real victims having to deal with Mina for more than 10 years. Also loving both Jessi and supported Jimin, because she had to take a lot of slack for being an idol, eventhough she had some good moments on this show. Jessi initially debuted as a singer, but came on the show to promote herself. And her American vibes definitely caught everyone by surprise with her brutal honesty. She didn't win first place (the judging was pretty sketchy tbh and she called it out multiple times throughout the show) but she still came out more famous than anyone. And she has said before that everything that was said was legit, but the drama was really exaggerated by the show.

Jessi definitely got a lot of hate and even on other varieties shows almost all the time they played this same music for some the things she said. (If y’all watched enough shows with her then you’ll know what I mean). It was really overplayed and I honestly got annoyed after a while, but I think now, especially after Refund Sisters and starting shorterview, I think a lot of people started to see more sides of her than just her badass/“intimidating” side.

It recently came out that she bullied a former member of her own group to the point of her having a mental breakdown. So I love seeing this episode, because Jessi was right and even better, she's a good judge of character.

this was a rap competition show jessi participated in, even though she’s more of a singer than a rapper. the reason why jessi didn’t like these girls was mainly because of how fake they were, while she was just being real. i also think another reason is because these girls claimed to be rappers and even though jessi is a singer, she’s better at rapping than them. i guess she was just disappointed? i cant really find the right word but yeah lol. a lot of watchers also liked her because she said things that people were too scared to say.

She was a contestant at Unpretty Rapstar, the show is a spin-off of Show Me the Money and she ended in 2nd place, first runner-up and appeared as a mentor in several episodes on the season 2. There aren't many artists in k-pop like her because she has no filter or what so ever, she says and does what she wants and what she thinks it's right. She debuted in 2005 and Unpretty Rapstar was in 2015, the show made her known in South Korea and even internationally. While international people liked her for her personality, in South Korea it took a bit for them to be used to her and nowadays people still have a lot of cultural shocks when meeting and hanging out with her but she already said that she's just a typical american woman (she was born in New York, but grew up in New Jersey). Last year, she dropped a song called NUNU NANA and it was her biggest hit song, it made her a lot more famous than she already was. Her 15 (almost 16) years old career is going strong.

But now that she has recognition, she's a lot more comfortable with people and shows her funny side more!!! She really worked hard and is known for how hard/much she works even now.

Additional information on why Jessi keeps saying ‘she’s not on the same level’ with lil cham or some of the participants is because she already has 10 years of experience in the music industry in S. Korea, she just wasn’t musically and culturally accepted before and that’s why she never blew up in her early debut years. Her first debut song before went hit, but then she vanished in the scene then blew up again when she said that “who are you to judge me?”, which was so iconic in her career. But she still wasn’t musically successful in S. Korea.
