Hands down one of my favorite Waylon songs, ever. I love just hearing it but I also really enjoy singing it... Speaking of Waylon I had a dream with him in it, he was older(as if he didn’t leave us so early) and it was actually kind of cool because normally I just have nightmares, despite taking enough sedative-hypnotics to kill a small horse lol. Waylon will never be forgotten & his music will endure for as long as humans exist on this planet, I truly believe that

Waylon's and Tommy's voice closeness reminds me of Johnny and Tommy Cash, so often if you closed your eyes you could swear it was Johnny singing for short periods of time. Tommy sure does sound like Waylon though

Love this. Just comin through bad on my phone. So, Tommy related how, to Waylon? Sure miss Waylon's stuff on radio. He was a super talent all around... Jessi Colter, I stayed 17 yrs with a super handsom man. Then the bottle won out and he died a tragic death. Just history. My next hunk and I had 22 yrs... 'til 08-- and he's the one I still miss. I know what it's like Jessi. Wish we could talk about life.... God bless lady. V W

Virginia, Perhaps you are assuming a little too much about the relationship between Jessi and Waylon, and comparing it to your relationship with your first husband. Your marriages both sound rather superficial to me, with the emphasis on physical looks - the first husband being a "very handsome man", and the second being a "hunk". That is not what it takes to make a good marriage. Jessi LOVED Waylon, and Waylon LOVED Jessi. Waylon gave up his cocaine addiction for Jessi. He cherished her. If you read Waylon's 1996 autobiography, the love that Waylon had for Jessi leaps off of every page. It doesn't sound to me like your marriage could even compare to the marriage between Jessi and Waylon. People only stay together for 33 years (it would have been longer if Waylon had not passed away at such a young age) because they genuinely LOVE one another.

pennellkay, I suggest that you look up the meaning of "hunk". A "hunk" of a man equates to a well built and sexually attractive man, pretty much the same way she described her first husband, when calling him "super handsome". Personally, I think that her comment not only shows a lack of respect for her both of her husbands to describe them in such a way, but she also comes across as a shallow and superficial person. That being said, I doubt that she "knows" anything about Jessi's life with Waylon, and therefore, Jessi would have very little in common with her to talk about. Jessi stayed with Waylon not because of his physical attributes, but because they both had a deep and abiding love and respect for EACH OTHER. I do not think that either Virginia or yourself really "get it". Perhaps YOU are ASSuming too much!
