It was perfect for her to have been the one who fixed Daniel up with Amanda and that she was the one to tell Amanda the truth about terry silver. And the fact they even thought to have her run in with Elizabeth Anne Rooney who she mentioned in KK3 as the reason her and her boyfriend broke up was great!!!

I have to admit when I first heard she was going to be making an appearance in S5 I thought it would be stupid - and couldn't figure out how exactly they were going to shoehorn her into the story. They did it quite brilliantly. That said, I absolutely do not want to see Hillary Swank again, at all.

I am so glad that Amanda heard this because as much as she is the “voice of reason”, she didn’t really get it in regards to why Daniel was so anti-Cobra Kai to begin with, even with her own interactions with Kreese and Silver. She just didn’t get it, which Amanda even admitted to Daniel later on. But thank God for Jessica to set the record straight. And once again, the writers found a way to bring yet another legacy character back in a way that serviced the story more. Take notes Star Wars, *this* is how you do it.

Amanda isn’t exactly the “voice of reason” as much as she’s the face of jealousy. She wasn’t a part of Daniel’s life back when karate was a major thing for him. Amanda was majorly jealous of Daniel’s life before her. She was probably the one to “coerce” Daniel to give up the karate. She probably forced him to give up all that stuff. We don’t know HOW Daniel and Amanda met in the first place. Their backstory. To Amanda, karate was something she wanted Daniel to “move past”. Amanda chooses to act as if her shit doesn’t stink. That she never had a past. At least Jessica is honest about her past. That’s something Amanda has always had issues with. Her own past. She has a “rich” life now, so she ignores the life she used to have before that. Which isn’t good. She doesn’t have to dwell on it, but not acknowledging it at all, that’s pretty bad. Daniel needed a woman who encouraged Daniel to maintain his karate training. It’s obvious she doesn’t like it, but, not everything is all about Amanda. Amanda needed to learn to accept Daniel’s karate and how it shaped him. And he should’ve insisted on that, either her support or dump her.

I had no idea they were bringing in Jessica and that was an INSANELY good plot twist for this. Nobody else could have remedied this situation but her. Having Amanda be her cousin, and having Jessica react the way she does when she simply even HEARS the name of Terry Silver just nails it home. You can tell at first she was just kind of brushing it off as any other spat, or Daniel's obsession with Karate being too much.. and then the name drops and she IMMEDIATELY ensures that Amanda knows the truth and that Daniel, for all his flaws and faults, is NOT overreacting to this guy returning. If it were not for her, Terry would have driven a wedge between the two of them, maybe permanently. But her cousin/bestie vouching for Daniel and even confiding in Amanda she probably didn't even hear the actual "worst of it"... yeah that rings differently.

I had rewatch KK Part 3 after season 5 to refresh my memory. Amazing call backs with Elizabeth Rooney (traitor who broke up Jessica’s relationship in KK Part 3) and the “macaroni and cheese” Jessica brought for Daniel (both Cobrai Kai and KK Part 3) I also noticed the Ohio State flags and forgot Jessica was from Columbus, Ohio with plans to return home in KK Part 3 Cool stuff!

There's not a lot of callbacks to legacy characters from the Original Karate Kid trilogy left that they can do. -Freddy (the neighbor/"friend" Daniel had BEFORE he fought Johnny on the Beach.) -Dutch (But his actor isn't likely to return to the stage anytime soon of his own accord). -Vidal (the guy Johnny fought in the Semifinals of the 84 All-Valley). -The two henchmen of Silver who hung with Barnes as he terrorized Daniel.

Why would it be creepy? Daniel proved himself to be a good man to Jessica all those years ago and he proves himself to be a good husband to Amanda. He was still a kid when he met Jessica and they got along but it was never romantic. Nevertheless, Jesscia liked him enough to introduce him to her cousin and in this way Daniel remains her family.
