Woman walks ahead is a great movie, a sad movie, which introduces Catherine Weldon and finally tells the world what a inspirational, wonderful and remarkable man Chief Sitting Bull was. All the actors of the movie particularly Michael Greyeyes in his role as Chief Sitting Bull was absolutely outstanding. I wish I had been fortunate enough to meet Chief Sitting Bull.

I think this film is really deep and teaches a part of forgotten history Both Jessica and Michael are the perfect actors to develope with sensibility the charachters... and in my opinion Michael Greyeyes is the sole indigenous actor capable to portrait the deepest feeling ofsuch a legendary Chief I love this film....

I just also wish that they weren't typecast so much. Like, yes, it is wonderful that your people are being portrayed by native actors; however, that shouldn't be the only time you're really allowed to be seen on screen in a significant way. Like Jessica Chastain could play someone struggling with poverty in California (how she grew up) but she is not limited to playing single mothers struggling to put food on the table, you know? She's allowed to be more than one thing in the public's eye and that's just as empowering as representing your background.

This was a decent movie about a strong, interesting woman and a great Sioux leader. It is however extremely bad history. I honestly don't know why Hollywood feels a need to rewrite history when the truth is much more interesting. Fictional romantic embellishments or changing the circumstance of Sitting Bulls death doesn't improve the story at all and came off as a frivolous attempt to cater towards a female audience.

Agreed. Hollywood media and government and in turn schools, teach BS. But Sitting Bull did propose to her, it's in one of her letters, so I imagine there was certainly love between them whether or not they pursued it or not though idk. But I don't think the film magnifies romance between them.

I saw their prolonged EMBRACE in a clip. With other scenes that held a lot of intimacy without physically touching. Still, very POWERFUL.

Michael Greyeyes should have received first billing - the actors that did I'd never heard of. But I don't even see his name listed at IMDB and other similar sites. HE IS THE STAR OF THE SHOW . The movie was fantastic. Michael gave a steller performance as always. It was kinda of funny, odd - as Sitting Bull he talked about being with Crazy Horse and Michael Greyeyes expertly protrayed Crazy Horse in the 1996 movie of the same name. The scenery in Women Walks Ahead was absolutely breathtaking. The US never fails to disappoint me.
