Their companies are worth $80 billion dollars, of which $69 billion came from 15 companies and the biggest one, Airbnb, they didnt believe in the concept but got into their ecosystem because a friend knew someone there. (7:00 - 11:00 mark). That fluke that they didnt like accounts for 44% of all their financial success. So basically, their success rate is about 1%. 15 financially wildly succesfull companies out of 1500 they invested in. Let that sink in for a minute or two. Only in America would that batting average be applauded and batter enshrined in at the front of Cooperstown.

Airbnb wouldnt exist today if it wasnt for Y C (CEO brian chesky said that). 2/3 of Y C startups at least paid themselves (Sam Altman said that), and succesful VC's considers themselfs succesful if 40% of their portfolio at least paid themselves. So Y C is above its market average, and more Y C founders says they wouldnt be succesful without Y C than other founders say they wouldnt be succesful without their VC. So yeah, Y C do a good job.
