YAYA CANO Jessica was adopted by Trish's mom. But it was only for publicity, and to add Jessica into the 'Patsy Walker' franchise. But once Jessica started noticing that Trish's mom was abusive, she started defending Trish, which was easy since she had powers. However Trish didn't want anyone to know her Mom was like that, so they both agreed that neither would tell about Jessica's power, or Trish's mom. This lead to them being friends.
