There's a lot of songs about women who have overcome their abusive relationships or left an abusive man, but I think this is the only one that genuinely made me think, "Damn. What a queen." Probably because it doesn't talk much about the impact the man had, but more what the woman is going to do about it going forward. She's not crying anymore, she's over that. There's such an "I don't give a shit" aura to this song that it's super empowering.

Listened to this every morning for months after I left the ex-husband. Drove my teenage son crazy. 😆 And now, here I am, 38 years later at age 76 looking back on the spectacular life I've had, while still looking forward each day I have left to the blessings God has for me. Trust me on this, dear children, the end of a toxic relationship is a blessing. Might not feel like it while we're going through it, but in time, if we're willing, God shows us clearly that it was, and helps us not to make the same self-destructive choices again.

Let's wish she won't breakup, that is better
@a.becker62163 жыл бұрын
@@isaacthepotterhead2843 I thank you for your care, but I respectfully disagree. Of course I don't mean a worst case scenario where she only dates monsters lol, but I think a few breakups are good for young women. Breakups taught me a lot about myself growing up, like how strong I am on my own, and how important it is to recognize and distance myself from abusive people. Break ups are an important part of life. All I can do as a future parent is to help my future daughter though these moments and show her how powerful she is. How other people, boys/ men in particular, should treat her. I want to show her all the things that were never taught to me, and a lot of them center around a breakup.
@isaacthepotterhead28433 жыл бұрын
@@a.becker6216 I understand, but wouldn't it be better if she met the best man on the world and don't have to breakup?
@a.becker62163 жыл бұрын
@@isaacthepotterhead2843 of course, I'd love it if she met Prince Charming on her first go around, but it's not exactly realistic to expect that. When I was fifteen, I thought I met met my Prince Charming on the first try. I was so elated to be able to say that he was my first boyfriend and that we got it right on the first try. It took me two years to recognize that our relationship was emotionally abusive & to get away from him. What I'm saying is that I don't wish any heartbreak on her, but learning how to recognize which relationships are healthy & which aren't is a valuable tool for her future. And added on, the odds of her meeting "Mr. Right" straight away are damn near impossible. I'm not gonna lie & say it never happens because my step-grandfather's parents used to walk each other to school when they were five and hadn't separated until they both passed away from old age. So I know it exists, but it's highly unlikely and I don't want her to "tough it out" in a bad relationship, if that's what happens, for any weak reasoning.
There are disasters. Just like any other given era or year in human history. Only a very young and/or ignorant person could think 2020 is anything out of the ordinary. Actually, most people have it much better than they did in 1920 or 1820 or 1720 or 720. But pampered people must have their little dramas.

At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But then I spent so many nights thinking how you did me wrong And I grew strong And I learned how to get along And so you're back From outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock, I should have made you leave your key If I'd known for just one second you'd be back to bother me Go on now, go, walk out the door Just turn around now 'Cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye? You think I'd crumble? You think I'd lay down and die? Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive, hey, hey It took all the strength I had not to fall apart Kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart And I spent oh-so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry But now I hold my head up high and you see me Somebody new I'm not that chained-up little person still in love with you And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free Well, now I'm saving all my lovin' for someone who's loving me Go on now, go, walk out the door Just turn around now 'Cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? You think I'd crumble? You think I'd lay down and die? Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive Oh Go on now, go, walk out the door Just turn around now 'Cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? You think I'd crumble? You think I'd lay down and die? Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'll stay alive I've got all my life to live And I've got all my love to give and I'll survive I will survive I will survive

Survivor of a toxic friendship here. I am proud of myself for being able to get out of such a problematic and complicated situation which was stressing me out and filled me with insecurities and self-doubt. I thank God that I now have people around me who truly support me for who I am …Never stop giving up and never let anyone hurt you ❤️

A group of heroes sing this song whenever they feel down During a tense battle, they feel all hope is lost... when one of them starts to sing this song. One by one, they all join in, becoming pumped with each note, and are finally able to power through

To those of you who had someone show their true colors and leave you. Whether you are a guy, girl, non binary or whatever. Whether you are gay, straight, bi, etc. And whether it was a boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse, sibling, best friend, romantic or platonic. To all of you who are in pain from this like I currently am. I dedicate this song to you. Stay Strong. We will get through this.

Intro] At first I was afraid, I was petrified Kept thinkin' I could never live without you by my side But then I spent so many nights thinkin' how you did me wrong And I grew strong, and I learned how to get along [Verse 1] And so you're back, from outer space I just walked in to find you here with that sad look upon your face I should have changed that stupid lock I should have made you leave your key If I'd have known for just one second you'd be back to bother me [Pre-Chorus] Go on now, go, walk out the door Just turn around now, 'cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye? Did you think I'd crumble? Did you think I'd lay down and die? [Chorus] Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'm still alive I've got all my life to live, and I've got all my love to give I'll survive, I will survive, hey hey [Verse 2] It took all the strength I had, not to fall apart Just tryin' hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart And I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry, but now I hold my head up high And you see me, somebody new I'm not that chained up little person still in love with you And so you felt like droppin' in and just expect me to be free now I'm saving all my lovin' for someone who's lovin' me [Pre-Chorus] Go on now, go, walk out the door Just turn around now, 'cause you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did I'd crumble? Did I'd lay down and die? [Chorus] Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'm still alive I've got all my life to live, and I've got all my love to give I'll survive, I will survive, oh [Pre-Chorus] Go on now go, walk out the door Just turn around now, 'you're not welcome anymore Weren't you the one who tried to break me with goodbye? Did I'd crumble? Did I'd lay down and die? [Chorus] Oh no, not I, I will survive Oh, as long as I know how to love, I know I'm still alive I've got all my life to live, I've got all my love to give I'll survive, I will survive, I will survive
