@@JessicaGavin You're quite welcome! I rate the wonton soups in the area where I live. Not one restaurant around adds mushroom, bok choy, shrimp or carrot. I'm lucky to find a place that adds pork strips. Some places add soy sauce to the broth, needless to say I never go back to them or the ones who are chintzy with wonton..

Streamlining the Wonton making is the key. If you mince/dice the Shrimp then you can just mix them with the Pork and seasonings, if you lay out 10 wrappers brush all the edges then go along and drop your filling into to the 10 wrappers then fold, it goes a lot faster, next try 20 at a time. There's also the Pouch wrap method that's what I use, you can have a lot more filling with this Wrap. Google it, I generally dip the loose end into water and then let dry ...super easy and fast (7-10 seconds to make a Wonton)

Hi Jessica! The Bokchoy needs to be washed after you separate each leaf, because there is soil and dirt as you can see inside each boat shaped stalk, that is not washed off when it’s not separated, as you can see from your video when you showed the Bokchoy leaves! I actually soak it in water first for a few minutes b4 washing it, to get rid of the dirt! 😊👍🏻👍🏻

You can definitely do both! Depends on your personal preference. Cooking the wontons separately can be helpful if you want to control the cooking time. Cooking them directly in the soup allows the flavors to meld together, creating a unified dish.

@@JessicaGavinyea, the wontons turned Jessica. although, my wonton wrappers were 3x3 not 3-1/2 x 3-1/2. i would of liked more surface area. my aunt liked the craft of the wonton folding. i only experimented with the wontons. save the soup for another evening.

What am I doing wrong? My "ground pork" was a bit tough and tasteless. I do crave spices, but in all the restaurants the wontons ARE AWESOME. Should I just increase the meat seasonings -OR- the thought came to me maybe to buy the ground Italian Sausage and act like it's normal? Note: I did not read any fat content. They only had 3 packs stacked on top of the other so no choices. -- ALSO.. When I make the wonton Broth (stock) I've tried 3 or 4 recipes and it's WAY TOO STRONG. At my favorite Chinese Restaurant the broth seems more -simple- and I'm 300% In Love with it. I'm thinking Next Time I make it.. I'm gonna put 2 chicken stock containers, 2 Qts Water, Full Garlic and only 2 slithers of Ginger and NOTHING ELSE. -- I JUST got a pasta maker. Woot !! Woot !! they tasted ok, but I'm gonna have to work on Shaping the wontons.

Thank you last night was the first time i made wontons. My wife was upset i didn't use the bokchoi or carrots but I told her it was different. She loves the wor wonton so i will make your recipe tonight. There was one thing i thought was stupid but in hindsight has to be done. I cooked the wontons in my broth. Big mistake they cooked way too fast and some fell apart. Other than that it was delicious.

@@JessicaGavin ok we made the wor wonton it was fantastic and I didn't mess up and cook the wontons in the broth again. I just kinda boiled an amount per bowl and it was perfect. They didn't fall apart. The shrimp was even better and I used all the veggies too.

It looks great but not like any Wonton soup I've ever seen. Most restaurants use a clear chicken broth that isn't spicy. With wontons, seaweed, green onions, and julienned roast pork. It is delicious. I'm going to try this version. I think Chinese food is my favorite cuisine with Greek running close behind. So much variety and so many wonderful flavors and tastes in both cuisines.

You can purchase pre-made wonton wrappers at most major grocery stores or Asian markets. Check the refrigerated section, as that’s where you can usually find them.
