Hi Jessica! Great color choice on the shelves and fireplace! May I ask where the wooden pedestal bowl came from that you put on the shelf? I almost thought you were going to paint the design on the cabinet the same color as your new shelves/fireplace which also would have been kinda cool. It's almost too bad the cabinet had been painted by the previous owner as the inside shelves look like wood. Good idea to add the new hardware! LOL Can't wait to see how you style it!

Love the way the room turned out, did you hard wire the lights or are they battery operated? The color is so warm and unusually for your decor but I am loving it. The cabinet was a gem it would look great with old vintage quilts in it.

I know everyone is doing it right now, but I would totally strip all the paint off that vintage cabinet and bleach the wood. I think that would compliment the white walls so much more and look more authentic. I love the dark fireplace and bookshelves though!

I think adding some pops of green on a few shelves would really look nice and tie it together as well and maybe some green on your antique cabinet. That green is one of my favorite colors! It's ALWAYS a good idea to anchor bookshelves. I grew up in San Francisco, and I can't count how many earthquakes we had ! it doesn't take much to topple a bookcase ( carpeting or not ! ) Earthquakes happen in areas of the country that never had them before. Also, if you have kids and/or pets - it's a MUST ! Better SAFE than sorry .

I love the impact the dark color wall unit and fireplace evoke. I am so tired of all white on white. To me this darkness added a cozy factor I just don't feel in all white rooms... they look to sterile to me. Also the wall sconces are gorgeous... are they hard wired... I didn't see any cords?
