Thank you, Mrs.Gray. You are one of the very few Professional Artists generous enough to FREELY share their knowledge. Please don't ever stop.

I see a plein air painter working with an Open Box M and I know they know what they are doing!! I have several of them (palette/panel holder) since I took some workshops from the PAPA painters years ago; most used them. Good work!!

Thanks Ron, It's so true, materials make all the difference. I think I have a variety of about 6 outdoor easels, most of which I never use. The smaller the better! Wood doesn't get too hot like the metal ones, and lightweight wins in the end.

Wonderful interpretation of this beautiful fall scene. Great explanation. Thank you for this video. Not easy in the wind, airplanes and cars zooming by😀
@ronschlorff70895 жыл бұрын
Right, wind is the toughest, most other things manageable! Wind is not the friend of the plein air painter, the fly fisher, and the model rocketeer; but kite flyers love it!! Nice painting she did despite that!! :D

Gorgeous. I’m glad you moved the camera several times so that we could see what you were painting from very close, it almost felt as if we were there!

Good, notice how much paint is on her palette, brush and thus on her panel. I had a work shop teacher once who was "brutal" with folks who had tiny dabs of paint on their palette, and scrubbed around with little paint on their brush and canvases, thus making "mud". He'd say to them: "For God's sake! Use some paint! They'll make more!!!" Never forgot that! LOL.

That's hysterical! I love it! I think it's what I'm saying (shouting) in my mind when I see palettes like that!

I just had a thought for a trash bag,............Use an old pillowcase! Love your painting❤️
@ronschlorff70895 жыл бұрын
best are the small plastic grocery bags, attached, by their loops, to your tripod. Don't forget the rock in the bottom to keep it from blowing around in the wind!!
@SFarling5 жыл бұрын
Ron Schlorff the wind will still make the plastic flap enough to be bothersome!
@ronschlorff70895 жыл бұрын
@@SFarling so you forgot the rock?
@SFarling5 жыл бұрын
Ron Schlorff no, didn’t forget the rock. You can do it your way, and I’ll do it mine! Have fun carrying a rock with you, or having to look for one while you could be painting! LOL!!!

Thank you for sharing! Curious what type of canvas you're using. Glad you moved the camera. A muffler on your mic might be a good investment. Appreciate your effort to get out and set up/edit and upload your process! I love the Aspen brushes too! Hope to see you at PACE20 =)
