Claire was eliminated because she staged a coop in the house over I believe phone use privileges. Production saw her as a threat and got her axed. There was something else pertaining to I think food but I can’t remember. Oliver T’s interviews are worth their weight in gold because they provide so much context for stuff not shown.

Hiya Jessica! So with Dominique's look, people in the 70s actually got VERY into like Victorian and "Little house on the Prairie" styles. After the pop mod 60s and the plastic and harsh lines they deviated back to more flowy and ruffles dresses and such. I actually think the Little house on the Prairie movie came out in 1974 and that had something to do with it because the counter culture heavily romanticized that time period. Some people even had necklaces made of human hair and other weirdo things Victorian era peeps did 😅

Thank god you didn’t roast Russell James. He is heavenly when it comes to photography. He saved this photoshoot. But i have say Claire’s outfit needed cleansing, it was so bad. Amy did so fantastic previous episodes before. It’s just bad luck. As for Katarzyna (emo girl), i love it. The hair was precise, it’s supposed to be that long in the front. The photo was far better than Amy, Claire and Lauren. I would wonder how Nigel Barker would shoot this though, honestly wood.

Re: the hippie look=> I don't really think this was a good representation of the hippie look. The hippie look was more organic -- e.g. you would "borrow" a cool, plaid shirt you found in your Dad's closet, a $5.00 pair of bell-bottom jeans from Skorman's; a pair of weathered Levi button-up jeans you found in your brother's dresser after he went off to college; a patchwork skirt you made yourself from a box of fabric scraps you found in your grandmother's attic, and a pair of shoes that were a half size too big from a garbage can or Goodwill's bins (that you'd then stuff some newspaper into so they would fit). Oh, and a suede jacket with fringe of unknown provenance that you stole from your bf and which he kept stealing back.

First, love that you mentioned watching trashy reality TV shows like flavor of love, rock of love, charm school and etc. Those were the golden years of reality TV because it was so unfiltered and organic. Second, please check out the deliberations sometimes to see their true feelings about the photo and the models. Third, I am shocked that Russell James, an amazing fashion photographer, accepted this job. He's one of my favorite photographers, but I don't know why he accepted the offer for this that would limit his creativity. He and the models definitely saved his shoot. I heard from Lexie from Cycle 15 in a video from another KZbinr. She mentioned that the photographers know that the best photos are not chosen, and they are somewhat aware of the model that is going home. She also mentioned that the show only highlights the negative critiques from photographers for their narrative. Still, there was also a time it was misleading when a photographer said they did a great job, and the judges tore them apart. I also heard in a different interview that they usually make styling, outfits, and other photoshoot resources very cheap when they have a special photographer or special guest in a photo shoot. Fourth, I heard reality contestants fill out questionnaires about their personal lives to create a narrative in the show, and they were fully aware of what they were doing to Lauren about her being very punk and giving her pop. Jessica is right to have the models lie to production lol. Can we bring back Elle Macpherson, though? I cannot get over her on the last reaction episode.

I think is a copyright issue, from S18 onwards it's really hard to create content without getting flagged. But I'd love to see her reacting to the face on face beauty shoot on S24, that was weird, especially the judging

Someone who worked on this shoot was definitely alt cause why is there 5 different alt genres and then pop, rnb and country?! 😅 the styling for every one except country was spot on.

Well is it really empathetic to not prepare them for the real world though? In the real world nobody cares about a model being uncomfortable so I really can’t blame them for not caring either. If you’re the girl who complains about her shoes being too tight you’re not getting booked again. It’s the reality of being a model, especially if they’re new. Just because you say things that sound empathetic doesn’t mean it is empathetic. Even Naomi Campbell says she still has to deal with being uncomfortable, and she’s a legend. Putting on airs of moral superiority doesn’t mean you’re any better than the people behind that show.

I did enjoy these photoshoots where everyone got assigned a different thing but I do think it is problematic because some girls would have done better with other assignments.

I’m sorry but Katarzyna’s photo is one of my favorites in ANTM history. It’s just so accurate and good. I even got jealous with how good the styling was. Also one of my favorite photoshoots, overall photos and stylings ever on the show. Love love love this photoshoot. ANTM has major problems but they nailed it on this one ❤
