Probably the 2 sides your talkin about 1st balut is like a traditional food and thos grilled balit is like advertising the food it self In the other hand in my opinion, grilled balut is the start of forgetting the tradition. Why? The said tradition was boiled balut not grilled, now if grilled balut becomes popular instead of boiled what will happen? Every vendor will sell grilled since its more popular than boiled and also there is more gimic in grilled than boiled, sooner or later balut can also be fried.

Balut is high in protein, so sometime you need to eat only 1 to 2, it can cause you a high blood if I'm correct if you eat too much of it.

They are scared of the sisiw . . . like me. But I can eat a lot of them like 7 baluts in one eating like we use to do together with my cousin until we feel sleepy, as long as the sisiw is small which is suppose to be . . . an embryo, not with feathers.

The best part of this episode is the last part, where Jessica gave tribute to all vendors out there selling different kinds of pinoy favorite snacks and treat, that it's such a good thing that they (vendors) are there for us... Those words she used there, were truly hearth-warming which gave value to these people who works so hard to earn a decent income and sustenance to their daily living even if it's from a low-level type of work just to please our palates. Unfortunately, we seldom hear these words from our own countrymen, instead some of us judge them for having a life that's miserable, in other words poor and looking down at the kind of work their doing.

I remember when I was just a teenager when I go with my lola every night to help her to sell balut on the street. We will set-up our balut stall beside the bakery at 4PM and at 7PM when my lola need to go home to get some dinner, I will replace her and wait for an hour until she gets back. By 12MN or 1AM, we will pack up and go home.
