She's got this rare talent that goes way beyond a powerful voice or acting skills, it's her ability to be sincere, reach out and touch the soul. They all sit there looking mesmerized and contemplating their life choices, lol. Renee looks like a proud momma (they worked together in "Judy") and her fellow Irish actors look so proud as well. Never stop, girl!

@jamesdolan40424 жыл бұрын
You mean Emmylou Harris not Joni Mitchell I hope. I first heard "Boulder to Birmingham" in 1976 I on Dave Fanning's show called Late Night on Rte Radio 2. I really like Jessie Buckley, she is really talented and not a stage Irish woman. I hope Renee Zellinger giave her a shout out at the Oscars.

Jessie has a mutually respectful relationship with her musicians and they turned this vast venue of professional peers into an acoustically intimate front room full of friends. Impressive and gorgeous - world class singers are often talented actors who are natural storytellers like Jessie. Eg Streisand, Sinatra , Trisha Yearwood, Dolly Parton, Lady Gaga and the multitalented Prince.

Seeing Renee Zellweger tearing up made me realize something - she won the BAFTA that night for playing Judy Garland and her costar from that film, the very same Jessie Buckley happens to be singing an original song from an entirely different film which has lyrics using imagery from The Wizard of Oz ("yellow brick road" "click my heels three more times" "no place like home"). Just a fun extra connection there!
