I think why the emotion of this song is so relatable is that its not really about the lover, or the friend, or the family member, or whoever it is talking to. Its expressing a deeper problem thats plaguing the person, affecting their relationships and maybe that other party in the relationship isnt any good - how the friends see or hear and don't like them- but the narrator needs that person to be what they need. Its a song about seeking that support and validation and while we can accept after that we dont need external validation or support and are strong enough on our own, in the moment of feeling the relation to this song we do need it - we need someone to believe in us because we can't. And being let go of in that moment of whatever else is just the straw that breaks the camels back... it is enough to have an end of the line kind of feeling about it and the most evident thing even if theres something deeper going on

“Nobody Misses” I was in a relationship with my guy best friend and things had changed so drastically once he had me it when from I’m in love with you to our last conversation him telling me that “I can’t miss you Denise I talk to you everyday “ when we hadn’t seen each other in person in 2 weeks since that day. The day after I broke up with him and we decided to stay friends. I thought it was going to be better we could go back to how we used to be but it was irreversible damage. I couldn’t be myself anymore and actually feel loved for who I am. “I’m not easiest” and “Don’t let me go so easy “ hit so hard because 3 weeks after I told him I no longer wanted to be friends and he didn’t respond to my text at all. It made me feel so worthless that I wasn’t worth fighting for after a year and half of being best friends although I felt like letting go he never once tried keeping me. Which is why I can’t give in even when I miss him, if he wanted me he wouldn’t have let go so easy.
