When we bought our home June 2019. Above the cabinets were awful. I poured white vinegar, then sprinkled baking soda. The junk bubbled right off. They looked brand new. Now I do it to keep fresh. Thanks for sharing life. ♥️

Just add wax paper up there and the grease and dirt with stick to that. Change it up seasonally or how often you want with no scrubbing !

Thank heavens I saw you standing on your cabinets! My husband has a fit saying I will crack the countertop. I only weigh 119 pounds! So I wait until he goes to bed, and then go to town! Does the TSP dry out the wood? Do you have to put a wood conditioner as a last step? Awesome video!

I weigh a LOT more than 119lbs and I haven't cracked my counters yet. I used the TSP because I was getting ready to paint the cabinets. I don't use it to clean with regularly. It is a liquid sandpaper so it will roughen up whatever you are applying it to so paint will adhere to it. Now that they are painted I wash my cabinets with hot water and a tsp of powdered tide.

I am 75 so although I used to try and balance on the top wrung of our step ladder, I am a bit nervous trying to do that and stretch in some of the corners that are only accessible on my toes. A fall at my age and bone structure could land me in the hospital. One thing I have discovered. We have one corner that could only be reached by standing on my toes on the step ladder. I decided to put several cheap plastic mats in those places. Now instead of chancing a fall in those spots, I stand on the counter and bring down those mats and clean in the sink. Saves a lot of time and straining. Thanks for that video. I never knew much about TSP. Video was really well done.

Awesome video! I can't wait to get my cabinets in but it will not be until the end of November first of December , My whole kitchen will not be done til the middle of Dec . Growing up my family had kitchen cabinets a lot like yours and I remember having to clean the tops in the spring and in the fall and sometimes we would have to use a paint scraper to scrape the grease off. After a few years my mom got smart and had us line the tops of the cabinets with newspaper. She never liked to put anything up there because anything up there would just get greasy. And that is why my kitchen cabinets go all the way to the ceiling.

I just used an all purpose spray to wet it so my rag would catch the ashes. Really water would work or vinegar or anything to moisten the ash to clean it up. I also used a sos to scrub around the glass area. Then my glass cleaner on the glass inside and out. Then my stainless cleaner to polish up the outside.

When we first bought our house, we have all ceramic tile here in the kitchen, foyer and family room. We thought the grout was all charcoal, here when we scrubbed the grout it was a beautiful light grey!! And in the family room a light terra-cotta color!! The old propane heater in the basement left soot on everything!! That heater went bye bye real quick!!

I love it. I use the Clorox cleaning wand to keep my tops cleaned. It has the pole so you can extend it. Helps us short people. You can wrap a wipe around it or a microfiber cloth. Just like that I never thought of a paper for up there. I know what I’ll be doing in the next couple of weeks.

I have two questions for you. What product, without bleach, worked best on your grout? And are you on the Eastern or Western shore?

Yessss seriously all I do is hit the setting it locks all controls and door goes to extreme heat and burns everything to Ash cools down and the next day I wipe the ash away. Best thing ever!

So I finished the video, my oven is also self clean, way easier, I had that streaky grease that gets in between the glass, didn't know you could take that off till I watched some videos, so my husband helped, cuz mine is more complicated then taking out 2 screws, I was do excited when I was finished and it was put back together, I just kept going in my kitchen and looking at it, lol, I even sent a picture to my sister and she's like that's way too much work, but it made me so happy!! Do you think you're still going to change the counter?

Maybe eventually down the line only because the seams aren't done very well. I dont mind the dark color. Might look into refinishing or seeing if it can be fixed. That is A LOT of counter to replace.
