Hi Jessie, lovely tour. So glad your mom is going to be back soon - she is one hard-working mama! I'm also glad that some of your tomatoes have germinated and might give you some fruit. I don't think there's a gardener alive whose heart would not break over your tomato tragedy 2022. Hope to see you soon, Audrey.

While watching your vid I was wondering how you keep track of what needs to be done and there you answered at the end! I only have a small home garden and just looking at the size of your allotment and scope of work involved in maintaining it, you definitely deserve a "cheers"! With your poor mom out of commission for awhile, your work at the plot and earning a wage, the fact that you still manage to have a social life is astounding. You must possess some kind of superpower. Hugs to Ani as well.

Kew gardens is one of my earliest memories when I was 3 in 1949. Was blown away by a rhododendron but had to wait 40 years until we moved to Scotland and had nice acid soil to grow them in.

Jessi, do follow Roots and Refuge KZbin channel? Jessica Sowers lives in South Carolina. She has had a similar issue with a large soil purchase this spring. She planted mostly night shade plants (Tomatoes and Peppers) in this soil her plants are dieing. Seems to be the same issue that you have had with your Tomato plants. Jessica has contacted the seller of the soil. She has found out that this issue is possibly a world wide issue. Some type of pesticide has neen applied to the infected soil. The soil company has told Jessica they will refund each customer who purchased from them. They are also testing and researching the issue. Jessica has decided to try to amend the soil and try to correct the issue. So she can teach her viewers how to correct the issue. Hopefully you find her information helpful. Love watching your channel.

Ah thanks you, a number of people have drawn Jessicas plight to my attention. Such a problem! I'm pretty sure mine was a chlorine issue from them flushing the water pipes in my area because i used 3 different composts. two of the bags i'd used half of for tomatoes before with no issues. But i've had contaminated compost before, its pretty devastating when it gets you!

There is some bad compost going around that has damaged many homesteaders crop production. Hope that isn’t what your dealing with but you may want to throw some sunflowers 🌻 in that soil as it helps detox and clean the soil. Also beans are very sensitive to herbicide in the compost- roots and refuge just had a issue with her soil and did a test with beans they all sprouted and then they all died. So now she knows it’s the compost so if your beans die fill the bed with sunflowers 🌻

Hello Jessie, thank you for a lovely vlog, nice to see you getting some outdoor socialising in too. I do love your consistency, you seem to get so much done!! Nice tour!! I have a large garden, and after getting it renovated last year, I have quite a few empty beds. I‘ve been making much more effort this year. I have various potatoes growing in containers, planted out sweetcorn this past weekend, tomatoe seedlings that “failed to thrive” as I call it, planted them out. Found a nice volunteer tomato plant which is looking very good, and was gifted a nice healthy tomato plant from a friend at the weekend, no idea the varierty. Created a little perennail border too, I’ve got snapdragons, dianthus and a peony. Got another bed with dahlias that I‘d planted last year, their forming flowers now!! Will have to sow some carrot and beetroot seed too! The more I garden is the more I want to garden!! Would be good to hear about your MA Jessie, thank you.

You look younger with no makeup on , so pretty either way. My peppers were so small for a long time but starting to finally grow. I think the heat is helping, plus giving them some fertilizer tea and picking off the little buds and flowers til they're at a decent size to hold peppers. Wishing I had another garden so I could grow more things like melons, squashes and pumpkins. Hopefully next year I can get hubby to comply 😉. I've noticed since I have my brassicas covered, army worms are on my turnips for first time. Desperate little critters lol. Also, I'm amazed that my leaf lettuce has been providing salads since February this year, but starting to bolt now. Never tried gooseberry but would like to. I can't grow roses, I've tried and tried 😪 lol we have walnut and hickory nut trees , but no fruit trees yet. Have raspberries and strawberries though. Gonna get blueberries soon .

Should be bigger not smaller!!….Stunning pond…. But you have your own little ‘gem’… to stare at every day !!👏…,The Plot is looking very ‘fruitful’…especially the Fruit!! Haha!!…everything growing well and more spaces to fill with loads of ‘stuff’…Yummy!….This is a marvellous time of the year, I think 👌👌….(except for the garlic R.I.P🙏)…Good news, tomato-wise..thankfully… Now I have soft fruit ‘envy’…sad but true. 😢😢…Thank you for sharing all of your ‘doings’ and the meet up with your mates…with wedding news….you will have a nice tan an a new outfit for that for sure!!…Regards and 🙏❤️to your Mom, with ‘OP’ etc…AND big hug and stroke to LIL … Allottment Star Resident🥰 🐱⭐️💫…See you next week…keep cool !!… and 🥂🍾…Cheers , Jessie Sue (Bham)

Hi Jess just an idea the apples could have gone to the June drop. We always lose at least a third to June drop.👍👋🏻

Hi Mandy. I was just surprised that there was no sign of them on the ground, normally when they drop they tend to just sort of lay underneath but nothing this year!

Jesse the allotment is looking absolutely fantastic! Looking forward to the next instalment 😀. I’ve been scrolling through your videos as I know you shared a link to the corner connectors to make the cages and now I want to build one I can’t find it 🤪.

Hi, do you have any tips for bell peppers. It seems that they need a long , warm growing time. Do you pinch out the tops? Great gardening vid

I had one very tiny harvest from a pot George! I've got higher hopes for the ones in the ground!

Kew is as always beautiful 💚 it’s been a few years since I’ve been! But you inspired me too visit our own botanical gardens in Dublin during the week when I have a day off 🙌

Thanks for sharing your experiences 💚🌱 It's always nice to see what works and what does not so well. That's real life of gardening. 👍 You don't have to be perfect, just take it as it comes. Your nasturtiums are so beautiful. Do you use the leafs and flowers for salads or fine cut mixed in salty butter for bread? That's so tasty and incredibly healthy.

Thinks Christiane. Yeah, gardening is very much 'win some/lose some' isn't it? all part of the game. I eat the seed pods of the nasturtiums pickled but i find the actual leaves and flowers fresh a bit over powering!
