Wow! Amazing Reading! I am now a new subscriber. :) #2 We have been close friends since our teens. I think that I have always been in love with him, since the day we met. We were married, but he chose his family instead of me. We raised our kids together, and this all ended after they grew up. We have our first grandchild on the way. We are still close friends, and we talk almost everyday. The biggest wedge between us was a difference in culture (British Independence on my side, and Hispanic "family comes first" on his. This became the main conflict between us, as I am not accepted by his family. I am a Witch - you are right about that. Rejected by own family, and his, as well.) I moved across the country (I very much need adventure and travel, and being stuck at home playing "happy housewife and mother" as expected by his family and mine about literally killed me. No addictions like alcoholism or drugs - just codependent selflessness, which is what I have been working on overcoming in therapy. He would have to travel to see me. Today I just asked him if he would, for the birth of our granddaughter to be, to share it. He is my rock, the only person I can be vulnerable with. He is the only one I go to when I am in a trauma situation or a crisis. He is the only one who can calm me down. He says I do the same for him. Spirituality was another issue, as well. He doesn't really travel...he does come from a desert area. I moved to be where is is green year 'round. I would rather live where there is too much water and storms, and not a place of drought, heat, and wildfires. Yep - we are best and very close friends on all levels. This gives me hope, and I am trying not to obsess over it. LOL

Wow! I picked pile #2. Yes, we did meet through AA. He has several more years sober & is something of a leader of our home group. I am just 7 months. At the instruction of my sponsor I told him I felt an attraction but also understood that relationships in early sobriety is not such a great idea. Further told him I did not expect an earth shaking response. I only said anything because my sponsor told me he “had a right to know.” He told me he has not been on a date for 8-9 years & he was okay with that. How’s that for monastic lifestyle? Jess this was so crazy and mind blowing and amazing!!! Pile #2 here... The problem here is the age gap (I am 18 years older), the distance (I live in the US he lives in Argentina, were we met), that's were tradition comes in I mean...not exactly a "traditional" couple, right? We are both in the fitness industry and I met him at his gym. He is very respected in the community and you can only imagine what people may say (and by people I mean community and his family) about this relationship, plus he has 2 little girls... When we got together I didn’t know he was married initially however he came clean eventually, and took steps to leave, which made things ok for me to keep going because he moved out blah blah BUT he never got divorced. Is still not divorced. And I don’t want to be an option. So yeah. He’s got plenty of skeletons in the closet. He’s the opposite of transparent. #2 He wants marriage and I want to pursue spiritual, it was hard for us to put down our idealism at first, he’s a musician (aquarius), i am an artist (cancer).
