Jes, have you thought about Oakleaf hydrangea? In my area Oakleaf look so good edging a forest or property line. Or maybe it's time to get a red or pink camellia bush for winter interest in the gully?? Need winter interest on days when it's too cold to garden....or something with red or orange berries.?? Just dreaming with you.....🦋

I pulled my geranium yesterday and had them drying out before putting them in bag's. I'm zone 6b in Michigan, my hostas I leave alone till spring. Its super easy just to pick up the leaves after the last frost and it keeps the new leaves protected just in case we have a late frost like sometimes we do. I have to use bug and slug killer every year on my hostas. If it isnt slugs its earwigs. Love your garden. You inspired me to plant some hucera in my garden in with my hostas. . So thank you for that.

Those are butterflies on your butterfly bush. Butterflies have wings that stick up straight in the air, and moth wings are flat on their back, if that makes sense 😅 What a beautiful day there. Enjoy your fall!

Hi Jes, thanks for the tour and the sweet message from your nephew. I wonder if the extra water we got thru late summer is affecting the budding, my roses just put out another flush of bud and blooms. So surprised 😊

Hey Jes! I’m planning on remodeling the front of my yard this coming spring at the moment I’ve got randoms amount of gorgeous plants that surround both sides of my main entrance of my house and all of my neighbors in my(HMO neighborhood)literally stop by my house to let me know I’ve got the best yard and I’m so flattered so my issue is really i want to be more of a symmetrical repetitive type of gardener- but I’m so nervous about a drastic change and what would happen if they hate it… I’m now left deciding if I keep it the way it is or to go for it?!I love the same look you have going on it just looks perfectly placed… can you help me decide? Thanks🥰have a blessed day

You should plant some Meadow Sage in that wet area. This spring I planted two Midnight Purple Meadow Sage (perennial salvia) in my garden. One of them were right at the end of my sump pump drain and was getting drenched with water. A few other plants haven't done so well but that salvia doubled the size of the other salvia that wasn't sitting in water as much. The bigger one grew from a 4" plant to around 18" wide in one season. The other one is around 10-12".

hi Jes, Are those River Birch trees? I often wonder what all the trees are on your property. Do you have a video just about the different varieties trees you have?

I'm watching you video, and the trees are so beautiful. The sounds of the wind through them is soothing! Everything is still looking so wonderful. You have an artists eye for garden design!❤ Hiw far into the woods does your property go?

Questions about your blue salvia: is that reseeding or growing back from the previous year’s plant? If growing back, if/when do you cut it back? I’m in the Leelanau Peninsula, zone 6, and it does not return for me. But, I’d like to give it a try!
