As a former pastor who is now a Muslim, this really speaks to me. I knew when I first heard the Quran in seminary that this was the Jesus I had always believed in. It does sadden me that so many Muslims seem determined to make the din more complicated by calling all kinds of things haram that Allah never declared so. I felt as a former Christian a reminder here of how Jesus peace be upon him fits in Allah's plan, and I also felt Allah telling me that, yes, His way is neither "everything goes" nor "everything is haram!"... I would love to speak to you and hear your story. I agree and the Quran actually speaks about this… people making things haram that aren’t. A lot of those pagan cultures influenced how islam is practiced in many regions but the Quran is beautifully clear.

No it wasn't even pushed by Paul. Even he said to follow the law as well as have faith. But the Christian clergy made this stuff up long ago, even though they have Isa's words (as.) in the book they claim to believe in. In which he tells them that you have God's commandments for the sake of your tradition, you teach men's traditions as religious doctrine. So many words of Isa as. are there that condemn what they've turned into their religion. It's ironic. And it's sad.

True but one of the ways that God chooses and elevates His messengers is by making them people of the highest morals and integrity, honesty and trustworthiness, only such people have any chance of succeeding in getting their people to listen to them. If prophets were previously dishonest or untrustworthy people then all the abuse thrown at them woud have stuck. If Prophet Muhammad(saw) had been known to tell lies Islam woud not have taken hold among his people. By following Islam we should all become such people that is why he is an example for all mankind. God does choose prophets, from the best of men at a time of deepest darkness.

I enjoyed listening to this, especially the early part. The treatment of Hazrat Isa(as) is a lesson to all Muslims because the treatment he received from the scholars of his time is exactly how the scholars of Islam treated the Imam Mahdi and Promised Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) thus fulfilling the prophecies of our beloved Holy Prophet Muhammmad(saw) that his Ummah will make exactly the same mistakes as the followers of Moses made, as if they were stepping into their footprints. Thank you so much for this clarity.

Prophet Muhammad is the last to receive a revelation. So when Jesus returns, he will not receive any new revelation. Rather he will fulfill or follow the law that was revealed in the Qur'an. Hence, Mujammad saw is still the last Prophet. Isa As will be the masiah.

Prophet Moses’ teachings did not elevate any of his followers to the station of prophet. It is not the teachings or what you do that elevates you to the station if prophet. God is the one that *chooses* his prophets in whichever way he finds befitting for His will and guiding of people. Many places in the Quran God says He *chose* so and so to be a prophet and a mention of what they used to do is not mentioned as a criteria for that choosing. God chooses his prophets from among His servants and believers in accordance with what fits with His will and wisdom. God is this verse tells Moses that He elevated him by what He, God, gave Him and not by what Moses did. Moses didn’t strive to become a prophet, but he was chosen by God because God found the potential in Moses to deliver and convey the message well and to be patient doing so. • Abdul Haleem: God said, ‘Moses, I have raised you above other people by [giving you] My messages and speaking to you: hold on to what I have given you; be one of those who give thanks.’ • Sahih International: [Allāh] said, O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My words [to you]. So take what I have given you and be among the grateful. • Mufti Taqi Usmani: He said, “Mūsā, I have chosen you above all men for my messages and for My speaking (to you). So, take what I have given to you, and be among the grateful.” Al-Aʿrāf, Ayah 144

The Quran is crystal clear that the prophet Christian claim to follow was in fact a prophet of Allah. That some of them, even very early on, fell pray to distortions about him, it does not negate who he was and what Allah the Majestic did through him. The Injeel ("Gospel") given to Jesus (peace be upon him) is referred to in the Quran as being "a guide and a light" in the *present tense*. So yes, compare compare compare. It is what Allah in the Quran is telling us to do.

Can you not realise that you are doing exactly what the Jews did - creating a reformer in the image you want. Prophet Muhammad(SAW) foretold that you would do this. He said that his followers would do what the Jews did - as if they were stepping into their footprints. Just as the Jews could not recognise Jesus because they had created a false concept so too have the Muslims done so. You will wait for 2000 years and never see an Imam Madhi or Jesus that you have created. Why do you think that Musim nations and leaders have become so weak - seeking protection from Non-believers instead of from Allah Almighty. All the decline of Muslims has taken place since 1880's, when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad claimed to be the Imam Mahdi and Promised Messiah. Inspite of the extreme wealth of oil they have delined in authority, morality and power - because they are following false ideas and are unwilling to return to the pure teachings of Islam as practiced by the Holy Prophet(saw)..

No sheikh you're wrong on that "the book" is the quran because when he comes back according to you muslims he will be living in the Muhammad Ummah so he must know it in order to keep with the laws. Most sheikhs contradict themselves in what they believe or say because lack of knowledge and interpretations of the quran.
