They sometimes say they weren't doing anything clever with their guitars, but they sure made them sound awesome.

Love how raw this is compared to the studio version. Don’t go nowhere. Stays where it is.

Ithis whole "Black Sessions" was released as a live cd (minus the announcers) it would be one of the greatest live "gems" out there.This whole set is amazing. The wall of sound is fabulous.

People talk The Jesus and Mary Chain never " got the recognition they deserved " . I bought " Psychocandy " as a 14 year old kid ... at that time the people who were really into this type of music wold be appalled at a band such as this or Spacemen 3 etc, etc going mainstream ... this was never meant to be mainstream or get Americanized ( a perfect example of a band who actually broke big in the US in the late 80s was The Cure - look at how shitty it all became soon after ) ... I´m pretty sure even some band members shared this mentality with the people who listened to them in the 80s .

It must be annoying to play necessarily this song over and over in every concert of JMC, because it's if not the only one remembered, it is indeed the most famous of this band.
@grahamdickson36335 жыл бұрын
utter bullshit, why comment on a band you obviously know nothing about. JaMC are not about hits, thats what makes them so fkn much better than just about everyone else.
@herbieshine13125 жыл бұрын
Your comment was from 5 years ago so it seems silly to reply but... The Jesus and Mary Chain weren't about having hits although they should have had way more hits than they had. They should've been much much bigger than they were/are. They had albums of fantastic work. As for hits it depends of the country you come from but here in the UK April skies or happy when it rains are probably the biggest "hits" they had although the whole of psycocandy was a marvelous piece of work and unbelievably important

All I know is that the show I saw of theirs was mind bending, although the little sexy dancers may have been the root of the bending.
