I noticed on The Chosen S4E6 tonight that Judas is wanting to "help" Jesus so badly, so much that he seems out of sync with the rest of the group, spends time alone instead of with the others, doesn't understand them when they try to explain stuff to him and so seems to feel like an outsider. He is worrying about helping God out. I did that for a long time too. Until just recently, I realized, God doesn't need my help. He knows exactly what He's doing and knows exactly how to accomplish it. He doesn't need Judas to help him get more money, because God owns everything (the cattle on a thousand hills are mine, says the Lord) and is in control of everything. What God needs from us is something totally different than what most people think, and I finally got it.

@surrenderdaily333 Yes... and does it not seem plausible that Judas is worried and gets more worried the more times that Jesus carries on where he is always battling with the Jewish Leadership. I am sure that Judas is getting to the point that he wishes Jesus would quite contending with the Jewish Leadership. He seems to always be right in the middle of it. Judas is fearing for life of Jesus. Now imagine that the Leadership says to Judas... Can you get us a private meeting with Jesus... we need to speak with him. We need to let him know that if he keeps up what he is doing... there are those that will kill him. And then Judas decides to arrange that meeting but then is betrayed and finds out they are the ones that want Jesus. So then the money they gave means nothing because he has been betrayed. And then finding out they have him to kill him... he commits suicide.

Remember when Peter and James and John were in the room together privately discussing why Jesus didn’t raise Ramah and one of them said, “Maybe He was unable to bring her back from the dead…” So there was STILL doubt in their hearts. Jesus needed to make sure they understood that Lazarus was REALLY dead by letting 4 days pass so when Jesus raised him, their doubt was removed. This wasn’t about Jesus raising Lazarus because they were good friends. It was about removing the doubt within the disciples hearts. Jesus didn’t just flit from town to town performing miracles like a circus act. There was a particular reason Jesus was trying to establish with every miracle that He performed.

I agree that it is important to get the timeline right because many people who refuse to read the Bible will watch the Chosen for entertainment reasons and will misunderstand what happened. Also, people who do read the Bible will become confused when the Chosen contradicts what the Bible says. Other than that, I think the Chosen is very well done and I can see where they strive to be authentic. Other discrepancies come down to interpretive issues. Some creative license is taken for the sake of dramatic effect. This happens in every on-screen portrayal of a book, any book.

I don't think so. The Christ was very clear about Judas character and motives. The poor betrayer is in hell as he despaired and killed himself. The Lord said it would have been better that he had not been born. So let's not assign any good he may have had in mind by his betrayal. The devil entered him, just as scripture said. Two fun facts: 1 is that the two pharisees in the beginning who go and get everyone else, unless I'm wrong about this, are the two Pharisees who Atticus talked to in season 3, who were threatening to bring him before Caiaphias until he tried to defile the sacred ground by spitting on it. So pretty much, we know all 5 of the religious leaders who initiate the stoning which is interesting. 2, and this was what confused me when i saw episode 7, but you can see that when Peter and Simon Z are holding back the Pharisees and Saducee's, Little James of all people is helping to hold them back as well. Gedarah is a lot shorter than the rest of them, just like little James so he's pushing gedarah back at 27:54

I think that Thomas is being critical of Jesus in this moment and his depression is getting the better of him. He wants the suffering to end as he states with Peter. He's hoping that'll happen with Jesus, or he just doesn't care if it does. Thus, at least imo, he's saying "Let us go, because Jesus will die and we will therefore die too." This is Thomas hoping that his suffering will be finished.

If you switch to other versions, you’ll see that in John 11:16, in Thomas’s statement, the “Him” to whom he refers is Jesus. SnipeSupport: I was a Machinist Mate while I was in the world's greatest Navy 30 years ago. We were affectionately referred to as Snipes back then. I just wondered if you were similarly trained?....

Have you ever met any of the main cast from the chosen?

Yeah we've met basically all of them, either at events or Premiere, or on set 😁 all of them have been super kind to us.

I love to see how much Peter has matured here…. The old Peter would have reacted the same way as Judah but he is a much matured disciple now… he totally fits for the title of the leader among the disciples

Right up until he denies Christ and cuts off shots ear 😂. He’s a work in progress just like all of us 👏

But I loved it! It’s getting down to the main thing. Kinda nervous even if we now what the outcome is going to be. But the actors and writers doing their thing

I agree with you about the timeline. If they're not going to follow the timeline of the Bible, why even point out the time and dates?

When John 10:13 is read, I think back to the " hired hand" , security guard that fled when a gunman killed 17 people at Parkland school in Uvalde, TX.

The funniest thing of the Chosen is Mathew and John writing their gospels right as it happens 😂 these gospels were written based on their memories decades later not as things happened 😂

Dude, were you wearing a great big modern wristwatch on your left wrist in that scene? 😂 Edit: Nevermind, you just said it was just beads. My bad!

I can't tell who says Mary after her first saying "Lazyrus has died." But it sounds like he says Lili.

I also think that Jesus was also referring back to Ezekiel 34, when He claimed to be the Good Shepherd. In Ezekiel, God was speaking to the shepherds of Ezekiel’s day, declaring to them that He would one day come and PERSONALLY shepherd His flock (Israel). Thus, Jesus was claiming to be God.

In scripture, Thomas was most certainly speaking of dying with Jesus(verse16). In the Bible, the words “die with Him”- him is capitalized.
