@@austinbrown2283 yes you need the Holy Spirit baptism to be saved and only Jesus does that(we were all baptized in one Spirit to be one body).plus there's only one baptism says the scriptures in ephesians4v5. water baptism is an external sign. Read also ephesians1v13.mark16v15 in this it's the baptism attached to salvation and you know as Well as me that water baptism only can't save but Holy Spirit Baptism can.

@@austinbrown2283 you don't have to be baptized to be Saved. Salvation is by the grace of God. When we realize that we are sinners and need a Savior and turn away from our sins to Christ. We accept Christ into our hearts. Just look at the thief on the Cross. He didn't have time to get baptized. He was crucified along with Christ. When He acknowledged that he was deserving of his punishment and asked Jesus to remember him when He enters His Kingdom. He believed in His heart, that his only way to saved was through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit must have been working on his heart. The Holy Spirit brought him to Salvation. Read Romans 10 and Ephesians 2. We cannot save ourselves, we cannot even bring ourselves to Salvation without God's help. Read Romans 3. I hope this helps you. God Bless you. However, Baptism is an open sign to everyone that we have died to our old life abd being raised to a New Life in Christ. Read Romans 6. We a publicly declaring that we have died with Christ and Now being Raised with Him. We are now Followers of Christ. It is also an act of Obedience to God, but I do not believe that it decides whether you are saved or not. Salvation is a matter of the heart.

That’s why even the first covenant was not put into effect without the spilling of blood. Those verses show us that Jesus had to die in order for the New Covenant to take effect. Jesus saved the criminal before Jesus died. If Jesus had to die in order for the New Covenant to take effect, and if Jesus saved the criminal before Jesus died, then Jesus saved the criminal while the criminal was in the Old Covenant. Us being baptized so that we can go to Heaven was not in the Old Covenant. If us being baptized so that we can go to Heaven was not in the Old Covenant, and if Jesus saved the criminal while the criminal was in the Old Covenant, then the criminal did not have to be baptized in order for the criminal to go to Heaven.

Austin Brown Baptism is apart of salvation, but confessing your sins and receiving the Lord into your heart must come first. Baptism is afterwards. It is done for obedience and its a physical representation of something that happens spiritually. We are NOT saved through physical baptism. We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ, and baptism is a work, so it cannot and does not save you. God made things as simple for us as possible, so no one could have an excuse on the day of judgement. There will always be someone unable to do a work, but someone with nothing can still have faith. Physical baptism is important as a sign of obedience and as representation of being born again (putting off the old self and putting on the new), but even more important than that is the baptism of the Holy Spirit (this is spiritual baptism). It is the Holy Spirit that strengthens us to walk and live for God everyday. Basically, we first have faith then the Spirit of God will strengthen us to do the works after. All you need is to believe upon Jesus Christ in order to be saved. Baptism is a physical way of showing that you have done this.
