Jesus, hear my prayers because I am weak. As a single parent things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and my hours to work are limited because I’m now homeschooling them. I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them I’m so ashamed. I suffered an heart attack and I’m battling lupus I’m overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. I constantly struggle to pay my bills and struggle to provide groceries. BUT I KEEP FAITH. Even though I want to give up. Jesus please take the fear from my heart. Father God it is you that gives me the strength to keep going. I praise you Father even as I fear homelessness please continue to give me strength.

Ms. Miller, there are non profit organizations in most cities to help out someone in your situation. Don't feel down and inadequate about yourself when it comes to your sons. Many parents who have children on the spectrum are single or divorced. I'll pray you find the help you need. But seeing you are homeschooling you are trying to do what's best.

Strong words and very direct. In my view, it's hard to pick holes in your message today though I am sure some will. I may not always agree with you on political issues, but I agree with you on this doctrinal issue. I like the way you said if you are struggling there's mercy and grace. That should be the message to those who struggle with same-sex attraction. In my view, the revelation of God's will in the bible is quite clear. Homosexual activity is something that people must repent from. Similarly, a Christian should repent from sexual lust, pride, greed and other sins of self-indulgence. Following Christ comes at a cost - the sacrifice of our will for His, because he is a loving MASTER. We must trust Him totally. Catching an accurate revelation of who Christ is should motivate us to strive to do this daily.

@hedgefun3024, I watched the entirety of the Sean McDowell video and suggest you rewatch all of it, because what you are saying is incomplete. Yes, Sean's guest, Alan Shlemon stated that the speakers at the conference did not overtly teach gay affirming theology and taught some helpful tools on how to navigate difficult issues. However, Alan stated later in the video that there was clear, indirect, tacit affirmation of gay/transgender ideology. The books that were provided, links, bios, resources etc all were from this camp. I wish this were not so but this is undeniable. In the end, Sean's guest, Alan Shlemon, ultimately decided that either Andy Stanley is ultimately either naive or "crafty". Naive in thinking that hosting a conference with this group of speakers would not massively increase the influence of this ideology within the evangelical church. OR "crafty" in knowingly using this as a clever, backdoor way to have christians drop their guard and become under the sway of this teaching. Alan basically said that if he was going to attempt to influence the church towards gay affirming theology, he would host exactly this type of conference. You may not really want to face the truth of what Andy has done. You want to be reassured by the words of his sermon and the beginning part of the Sean McDowell video. I can sympathize with that. I am so saddened by this and have always respected Andy Stanley. He has always wanted to avoid the culture wars. But by hosting this conference, he has clearly planted his flag in one camp. Why not host a conference with christian "ex-gay" speakers such as Christopher Yuan, Becket Cook, and Rosario Butterfield who have a dramatically different ideas on this? I fear for his legacy and church.

Didn’t Dr. Brown ask if regular attenders knew that Andy and the church held the view that marriage was between a man and a woman? Andy did a series called What Happy Couples Know. It’s for married couples….ie a man and a woman. He also wrote a book called The New Rules For Sex, Love, and Dating. It was geared more toward singles. He says there honor God with your body and no sex outside marriage…a man and a woman. There’s Inimate Encounters as another. Look at the past messages. They are on the website. Why Dr. Brown couldn’t find this content is mind boggling. Andy has never affirmed same sex marriage and Dr. Brown said he told him that years ago in a text. That said, the conference was NOT about theology. Parents that have kids that come out have things to deal with that I can’t imagine, and since NO THEOLOGY was presented, this suggestion that it was implied is a stretch in light of what Andy has always taught. Surely you agree these parents need help. So let’s say Alan and Justin, driving in opposite directions came up on a car wreck and the car was on fire. Should Alan not involve himself because of Justin’s theology? After all, they aren’t there to share theology, just offer help. I get that folks think it’s not a good look, but these claims of Andy being dangerous because Justin shared content Alan lauded is downright uncalled for. What makes you think Alan can read minds and hearts? Folks just want you to click, like, subscribe, and donate. The more sensational the content, the better. You have fallen for a hoax.

What is the Trinity? The Trinity is this: The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Ghost is God, and yet not three Gods (Elohim), One God (EL or Eloah). The use of the Hebrew word “Elohim” (a plural) was translated as God (singular) first in the Septuagint and later in the versions of the Bible specifically as found in Genesis 1:1. Elohim, God in other languages, was never meant to demonstrate the Trinity, and it would be out of context to do so. Does a Christian need to believe in the Trinity to be a Christian? Must one believe in the Trinity in order to be saved? And if so, why did our Savior and His disciples never teach the doctrine of the Trinity? Why would Christians three centuries later give credence to the councils of men seeking to define the deity of Christ in conjunction with the Father without revelation from God? In the history of Christianity, the first four ecumenical councils: the First Council of Nicaea in 325, the First Council of Constantinople in 381, the Council of Ephesus in 431, the Council of Chalcedon in 451 were designed to argue over who God is without one thus says the LORD! If the doctrine of the Trinity is correct, then why did it take all these councils to finally decide and design the deity of Christ? From the beginning in the year 325 CE to the year 380 CE when it supposedly ended. Can mankind define who God is? No. Only God can reveal Himself to mankind. Accordingly, scholars agree that “Although early Christian theologians speculated in many ways on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit relationship, no one clearly and fully asserted the doctrine of the Trinity as explained...until around the end of the so-called Arian Controversy. Nonetheless, proponents of such theories always claim them to be in some sense founded on, or at least illustrated by, biblical texts” (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, Dale Tuggy, 2020). In fact, the Trinitarians have claimed to base their definition of God by implication, as there is absolutely no explicit doctrine of the Trinity in the Bible. There are two seemingly explicit pillars for the Trinity in the New Testament, namely, Matthew 28:19 and 1 John 5:7-8. First, 1 John 5:7-8, known as The Johannine Comma, is an interpolation (words added), as acknowledged by Christian scholars, to the Bible by over-zealous Trinitarians, who wanted some testimony to the Trinity, due to the fact that in the Bible there is no such doctrine of the Trinity. Second, Matthew 28:19 has come under suspicion by Christian scholars, a commandment allegedly given by Christ to the disciples to baptize in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, however, the disciples only baptized in the Savior’s name {YAHSHUA} as demonstrated in the Book of Acts. The early church historian Eusebius, wrote (as published circa 316 CE) in his book on early church history the verse of Matthew 28:19, that Christ actually said, "Go and make disciples of all the nations in my name" (Eusebius, The History of the Church, p. 68, PENGU1N CLASSICS, 1965). The Trinity, evolving, has only really existed since the 4th century. Historian H.G. Wells factually stated, "There is no evidence that the apostles of Jesus ever heard of the Trinity-at any rate from Him" (The Outline of History, Vol. 2, p. 499). Martin Luther is quoted in a sermon saying, "It is indeed true that the name 'Trinity' is nowhere to be found in the Holy Scriptures, but has been conceived and invented by man" (The Sermons of Martin Luther, Vol. 3, p. 406, 1988). It is time that the false Trinity Doctrine cease to exist in Christianity! Unfortunately, Catholics agree that “Whoever will be saved: before all things, it is necessary to keep the Catholic faith… unless he keeps this faith whole, he will perish everlastingly...And the Catholic faith is this: we worship one God in Trinity” (Catholicism, p. 69, 1961). Protestant professor of Theology James White, states, “We hang a person’s very salvation upon the acceptance of the doctrine… We must know, understand, and love the Trinity to be fully and completely Christian.” And paradoxically, Professor White further states: “The Trinity doctrine is misunderstood as well as ignored. It is so misunderstood that a majority of Christians when asked, give incorrect and at times downright heretical definitions of the Trinity” (James White, The Forgotten Trinity, p. 16). According to James White, around 75% of Christians, who think themselves to be Trinitarians, are actually Modalists. Modalism: One God who at different times represents Himself in three different modes of being: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. If belief in the Trinity doctrine is so critical to our salvation, the question goes begging, why did Christ and the disciples not preach the Trinity? It is even more confounding when historically the Trinity developed over 300 years after Christ? To say that one must believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, when Christ never stipulated the doctrine as a prerequisite for salvation is the grossest form of legalism! The man-made Trinity Doctrine is so ingrained into the imagination of Christians as a prerequisite for salvation, that despite the fact that Christ and the apostles never ever taught it, it becomes unthinkable to cast aside this doctrine even when proven to be solely based upon the traditions of men. Consequently, many could actually stand condemned for believing in the Trinity! For the very reason of teaching it according to the Tradition of men, and not of God. Christ warned us about teaching doctrines without one thus says the LORD! And He...said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men…” He told them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition” (Mark 7:6-9). According to the Gospel, Christians are not stipulated to believe in the Trinity in order to receive salvation and eternal life to enter into the Kingdom of God! If Christians needed to believe in the Trinity in order to be saved, then it would have been taught in the New Testament by our Lord and Savior. Biblically and historically the Trinity was never taught as also evidenced in the New Testament. The Trinity is a useless and confusing Doctrine based solely on the misunderstanding and confusion of men. It is time for Christians to free themselves from the doctrines of men. Our God is the Son of God, the only Lord YAH, to the glory of His God and Father, and YAH means I AM.

He said he believes a lot of same sex individuals when they receive Christ they are told they absolutely have to be with (someone ) the opposite sex and proposed Biblical eunuch's. And how Jesus Yeshua would be a prime example of such. What's your thoughts on those from the womb? He goes on how some parents didn't know why their child didn't gravitate to the opposite sex so assuming they must be gay (especially secular non-believers). Doesn’t the Bible say that salvation is through grace by faith and not from our own righteousness because we’re all sinners?
@Christus.Invictus
@Christus.Invictus Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the question. It's a common one that is too often misunderstood that somehow we are not called to obedience and that grace covers everything. It doesn't actually. We can actually "enrage" the Spirit of Grace to our peril with our ongoing unrepentant sin according to the book of Hebrews for example. First, people don't realize that the words faith and faithfullness are the same word in both the Hebrew and the Greek languages. You can almost interchange them. It's not simple belief that saves, but as James makes clear it's an "active" faith...a faith that is faithful to God. Jesus says the proof you love God is how you obey, and there are potential eternal consequences for those in ongoing rebellion...and the New Testament makes clear that we are to warn the world and fellow believers of those consequences of sin. That even believers can get off the road that leads to eternal life. A sinner's prayer is absolutely insufficient when you examine scripture. Here's Paul talking about how we are to try to "persuade others" because of the judgement of Christ and the fear of the Lord. That includes Pastor Stanley who is allowing openly gay pastors to influence his church and those living as an open and active homosexual themselves let alone any other issues people may encounter like adultery or sex before marriage etc.. we are to love people enough to warn them and realize we ourselves can forfeit salvation by continuing to live in ongoing willful unrepentant sin. Jesus speaks about spitting out those Lukewarm and rejecting them. There is a point of no return with rebellion against God. There are actually 80 passages in scripture that warn us not to get off that road of salvation. It's not set in stone based on a past sinner's prayer. It's based on how we live out our faith and faithfullness. Faith isn't a simple thought God exists, but action. If you're a follower of Christ, you don't think it, you live it or your fate is with the unbelievers. Here's some passages below that too often get ignored or missed. We are to warn others and we have been warned repeatedly in Scripture that believers cannot assume they are safe while living in open rebellion against God: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. 2 Corinthians 5:10‭-‬11 ESV My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins. James 5:19‭-‬20 ESV Notice how in the book of Hebrews the author includes himself in the warnings of doom and even fiery judgment. He says if "we" neglect our salvation, than judgment, if "we" go on sinning, then we outrage the Spirit of Grace and fiery judgment comes and there no longer is the sacrifice of Christ that will cover that ongoing rebellion. So we can't keep playing games with God as part time believers. Debauchery on Friday and Saturday night, then modest and "good" at Church and then rinse and repeat. Here's Hebrews...these sort of warnings are laid out by every single New Testament author: For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has trampled underfoot the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:26‭-‬31 ESV Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest we drift away from it. For since the message declared by angels proved to be reliable, and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard, while God also bore witness by signs and wonders and various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Hebrews 2:1‭-‬4‭ ESV So there's a good start to address your comments. I'll try to elaborate more when time allows. God bless you and yours 🙏

Yes, the bible does teach that salvation is by grace through faith alone. But the bible also tells us that the grace of God that brings us salvation, also teaches us to say no to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self- controlled and godly lives in this present world. That's not lordship salvation. That's being a discipline of Jesus.

@Christus.Invictus
@Christus.Invictus Жыл бұрын
@@ChristyCallahan That's not what (ongoing) willful sin means. The Bible doesn't make the claim people will be perfect instantly, but we are to strive towards that. Grace isn't an excuse to keep on sinning, but out of that gratitude of that mercy, and out of knowing the consequences for failing to press on towards holiness, we seek to be holy as He is Holy, and be perfect as He is perfect. But people use Grace as an excuse to continue in sin, and scripture makes it VERY clear such behavior puts your soul in jeopardy. Here's a good verse on how we are to press on towards holiness: Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. Only let us hold true to what we have attained. Brothers, join in imitating me, and keep your eyes on those who walk according to the example you have in us. For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things. But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself. Philippians 3:12‭-‬21 ESV

But Dr Brown 1 Corinthians 7: 8 Paul says it's better to remain single. This seems to align with Matthew 16:24-25, Luke 14:26-33. Yet Yeshua uses " Eunuch " as a code word in Matthew 19:19 that seems to align with our concept of sexual orientation. Immediately before this, Yeshua's clear line is do not Marry, but if you do don't ever divorce, except on condition of unfaithfulness. But he is only going along with what Moses allowed. The disciples come back with, "Then it is not good to marry." Then Jesus seems to agree with them and goes on about Eunuchs, which actually is his coded answer implies he understands people are of different sexual persuasions, but it is better to give everything to the Lord. This followed by disciples forbidding the little children from coming to the Lord. Then, the analogy of the difficulty of allowing a wealthy person like a camel through the eye of a nettle. The final verses of this chapter are clear. You must finally give away EVERYTHING to the Lord. Your wife, husband, friends, children , riches, status, even your own personal identity. I don't think people, including Dr Brown, are coming to grips with the severity of chapter 19 in its entire context. Dr, Brown chapter 19 is not about legal or class or sex categories per se. It's not about who's in or who's out, It's about shedding everything you hold dear. That is what HE requires. Dr Brown, with due respect and I value and read many of your books, I believe you are just playing a game with your "clear line" jargon. It's not a question of "clear lines" between one thing and another and if there was, it's time for you to get over it. The only thing clear is "everything" and that is what He requires.

This is a common misreading of Jesus’s prohibition of the “putting away of”. Jesus did not prohibit divorce, and remarriage. He prohibited a common practice of the time of “putting away” a wife, instead of legally divorcing her, so she could legally remarry without committing adultery. Jewish law, which Jesus kept during his lifestyle, mandated a man who no longer wished to be with his wife provide her a bill of divorce. The bill of divorce assured the community, and her new husband she was legally divorced, and not committing adultery by remarrying. It was common for men to not give the bill of divorce, and just “put away” the wife, without actually divorcing her. That’s what Jesus prohibited. We don’t have a practice like this in our modern cultures for the most part, so we misread it. Jesus, and the Apostles very clearly allowed divorce in the event of sexual immorality of one of the parties. Divorce for the PURPOSE of taking another spouse was a kind of divorce that was prohibited by the Apostles. This kind of divorce was common in Greek culture, which the Apostles were writing to. They made marriage more binding for sure, but not so binding that the innocent party had no recourse in the event of some kind of sexual immorality taking place.
@SharpSapphire
@SharpSapphire Жыл бұрын
@@nuallannnua1553 The scripture is plain and needs no further explanation. Can we highlight Matthew 19:8, The Lord said “FROM THE BEGINNING” divorce was really never acceptable (except for sexual sin or immorality, adultery of course) Malachi 2 “16 For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away:…” Matthew 5 “31 It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: 32 But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.” Matthew 19 “3 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? 4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, 5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. 7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? 8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: BUT FROM THE BEGINNING IT WAS NOT SO. 9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

There was NO gay affirming taught, but they admit what was taught was practical and helpful. Critics such as yourself have caused lots of hurts. You asked Andy to repent about something he didn’t need to repent from. As I posted yesterday we have always known where Andy and the church stands on marriage and homosexuality. @@junkyardhawg1154are you the thief on the cross? If the thief on a cross had not died that way I guarantee you that he would have lived a repented life because Jesus had the ability to discern men's heart. If your heart is right you will obey God without compromise, but that doesn't mean you won't struggle. The thief on the cross teaches us that salvation is by grace alone, but the problem it has is that it's not relatable all the way for those of us who are not on the cross. Us who are not on the cross we will need to pursue holiness as God desires, not on our own, but empowered by the Holy Spirit. Andy Stanley instead of defending the affirming speakers he had on his panel we ought to be encouraging them that God can strengthen them to resist their temptations. So can we also claim that Paul preached Lordship salvation based on this scripture then. Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. The first part of the interview, they were both trying to be gracious and talked about some of the positives like you said, but right after that they absolutely were horrified and spoke plainly about what was being taught and put on display at that conference. Dr. Brown is absolutely right to bring the same correction and call to repentance that the interview you've referenced basically is doing. So it seems you only saw the into to the interview rather than the part where they rip apart the lack of discussion about repentance at the conference and talk about how Stanley is either "naive" or "crafty", but that either way he is "dangerous" for allowing such a conference to he held that has openly affirming speakers there hosted without any push back on their gay marriage, and letting a gay affirming book be sold there for believers to be influenced by. Not to mention that the talks about parents of trans kids was basically pro transition. The purpose came across that the parents just allow it to happen and try to cope, not how to prevent that damage to their kids. So you have totally misrepresented that interview unfortunately. The interview does have chapters under the title, so you can see how after starting nice, they begin to cover all that was wrong with the conference and wrong with Andy for hosting it at his own church. Here's just a 60 second clip talking about Stanley being "dangerous". I would highly recommend people check out the full interview and look at just 5 minutes from minute 47-52:10. Talking about this conference was like a Trojan horse trying to subtley change traditional believers into gay affirming. They absolutely disagree with the conference.
