Jazak Allah Khair. I hope there is a serious effort to correctly translate the Codex Sinaiticus for it seems this task is very much needed.

I much prefer doctor Ali Ataie’s more conversational videos (like the ones on Blogging Theology) over this Khutba (sermon) style speech.

Yes; this is what bishop Arius beleived. Arius taught that also; Jesus was in some way known by God before; in soul in essence; and indeed this does not make us co eternal/coequal with elah. Bishop Arius and many in the church in the third century tried to insist on the pure monotheism; and the Roman Empire took over and forced this doctrine on the church. 😢

About the indefinite and definte article argument. I've heard this as a rebuttal from the Christians, and as an Albanian, knowing that the same thing happens in my language (where the word is indefinite but still denotes a unique object) I would say that they are right about this, even though I'm Muslim. It just isn't a good enough argument. I would have to say that Greek, like Albanian doesn't work like English, so there are many instances where the word is in the indefinite article but it denotes an object which is definite. While Greek does have an equivalent to "the" which is "ho", it does not have an equivalent to "a,an". And the way these languages use the definite and indefinite is not so mathematical as in other languages, rather it works more poetically. I would give an example in my own language. We say "Në fillim ishte vetëm Zoti." which literally means "In (a) beginning was only the God." Now we know that there is only one beginning, but for the sake of the sentence structure, we have to forsake the definite article of the word "fillim" and make it indefinite; because context shows that it is talking about the one beginning. Now, if I make the word "fillim" definite, which is "fillimin" it would not be a correct sentence; no one says "Në fillimin ishte vetëm Zoti." We can add -in at the end of the word "fillim" and say "Vetëm Zoti e di fillimin e botës" which means "Only God knows the beginning of the world." and that is because the word "fillim" is in another context. Like Albanian, Greek works the same way. You sacrifice the definite or indefinite just so that the sentence sounds better. I know Jesus is not God or a god, but please, look into this argument a bit more because it's not strong enough.

Yea the relationship bwteeen Elohim and his creatures is metaphysical. Like father to children. In John chapter 10; he is talking to some rabbis; they accuse him of blasphemy “making himself coequal to God”. And Jesus clarifies the idea of being called son of Elohim is one who is speaking through Elohim power and word in him. They were called as israel was chosen, called Elohim, as sons of Elohim”. To be a son of Elohim is not to claim to be coequal to God; it is absolute childlike submission to God that makes one like a child of God.

Couldn't the last part simply be explained by hadith qudsi phenomenon, even if Jesus pbuh spoke words of Allah in first person, still doesn't mean that Allah is Jesus. Jesus even said, peace be upon him, in many verses of the Bible, that the words he speaks are NOT of his own, but of Rabb who sent him and ORDERED him to speak those words...

Besides, the companions only heard the Prophet (saw) recite the Quran initially, does that mean that Muhammad saw is God? Astaghfirullah! May Allah save us from such lies.

Yes christ was deified in 381 ad. To say he was absolutely co eternal co equal to Elohim. This was not something the early church believed. I am a Christian monotheist.

When Jesus was taken up before Gods throne; in revelation 4; God is the almighty God; Jesus is then chosen as the representiative; like a high priest; so his Father is still his God; it is clear all through the book of revelation. We are becoming like Jesus in submission to Elah. Jesus is before Elahs throne; and all beings honor Jesus before elah; submitting to him; all under elah the father; that he is the “new Adam”. This is also mentioned in Quran all creatures had to bow to Adam in the beginning. Jesus is this new Adam before creation. And I do not beleive we are to place him as coequal to elah the Father. But he is a representation that we can submit to Jesus in glorifying elah the father.

Here is the thing. You consider him God, not knowing the full proper story about him. So whenever someone in the future is saying 'I am the messiah' then you will follow him in a snap of a finger. Not knowing who he actually is.
