Our choir at First Pentecostal Church in New Castle, Pa sang this back in the 70's for our Easter cantata.

Our local church choir sang this in 1974 when I was 16. I still can sing the alto and remember words. Most of those sweet saints are gone now but this brings them back. Our pastor was the tenor soloist. He had a lovely vvoice but he was also a giant of the faith to me. I owe my faith to so many of those dear Christians.

God is so good! What a blessing from Him to find this Contata. I sang in it years and years ago. It is amazing how wonderful things are triggered in my brain, while reading his Holy Word! It is my hope that all will be blessed while listening to this wonderful Cantata! Oh .. all praise and honor goes to our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ ❤ I am looking forward to his coming again!

I remember this, too! I believe it was about 1971 and it was at the very beginning of the "contemporary Christian music" movement, as I recall. Amazing how many of the lyrics I still remember. It made me go digging through old music and I found my original score. It is fun to sing along. Maybe I can sing it again in Heaven!

If you didn't post this, we wouldn't have had the blessing of the past generation's talents in Peterson and Wyrtzen's praise musical for us to enjoy today. It is a rare treat.

I believe this was at the beginning of the "contemporary Christian" music movement. Covenant Baptist Church in Indianapolis wasn't very big, but, oh, the music that we sang! Our choir first sang this in the early 1970s. Most of those saints have gone Home now, but bless God, we will sing with them again! ❤

Trinity Baptist in Clearwater sang this cantata parentheses the choir) I think in the summer of 81 or 82… Absolutely amazing… Praise Jesus for those composers that music back then… And thank you for having it on KZbin! Nicely reproduced…

Brings back great memories of singing with the Faith Singers with Phyllis Jacobsen as director. We did Jesus Is Coming in Illinois and Michigan. Believe you heard us when we sang in Michigan.

Thank you so much for posting this. I remember as a young teen in 1975 when John Peterson came to Scotland and a local choir was formed to perform the cantata at The McEwan Hall in Edinburgh and the Tent Hall Mission in Glasgow. John M Moore (who wrote Burdens Are Lifted At Calvary) had been my minister at Carrubbers Close Mission (Now Carrubbers Christian Centre) on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. These were wonderful times. Your father Jack came to preach at Carrubbers on two occasions in the 70s and 80s. I passed on the link to my own father, Eric Scott (89) who was thrilled to listen and pass on to others who were involved in those events in '75. God bless you Don.
