Jesus Is My Rock by Rev. Gerald Thompson and the Tennessee Full Gospel Baptist Church Choir

Hey, everyone. I'm here with another KZbin gospel video. As a native of Dinwiddie, VA (DC county for the natives) I'm a fan of that nice, southern country churchy music. So, when I did this one, it reminded me of my great-uncle Melvin who used to sing this song in my old church. I'm proud to say that at 81, Uncle Melvin is still going strong, and still sings this song. This song goes back to 1996. Rev. Gerald Thompson, pastor of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church in Lamar, Mississippi, joined with the Tennessee FGBC Mass choir and came out with the album, "Let the Church Say Amen" One of the main songs in that album was the song, "Jesus Is My Rock". Now this is for the country folk, or for those who have family in the old country church. Basically, this is Southern Gospel. I do not own this song, nor am I seeking monetary gains or publicity. The lyrics are on the video for those who want to learn or follow along with the song. I hope you enjoy this video. Thank you and God bless.

Beautiful job folks I Love Southern Gospel songs..You see like my friend who previously wrote as a Pasty white girl...I am also one who has fallen in Much love 💕😘 with a man of Color and Have been married to him for 11years.I went with him for 20years 32Years with the same man 👞 He saw me through 10 years of being on drugs..He sold drugs,, so I would be out of the street and he didn't see even do them...He said well I figured I had to go to prison to get off them and you were such an awesome woman ♀️ after going to rehab 22times jail+3times never see left. With violation of carrying drugs I came to meet the Master Jesus Christ and I give the praise to my Husband and his family for they took me in when really they could of sold me to the Devil 👿😈 What kind of God is He to change me Like that????? YES!!! Now this is gospel!! I am a pasty white girl, but I was raised in a Southern Pentecostal church. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, does it like the old songs. I moved to Seattle with my husband two years ago, and there just is no old-fashioned down-home church up here. Makes me love and miss my home even more. I love this song!!!! It brings me back to my childhood!!! My Father was a Southern Baptist Preacher, He was a wonderful Daddy!!! His name was Rev. Willie A. Jones!!! He passed away in 2008. That was an incredible experience for me. Gerald has a lot to do with my music ministry and I truly thank God for the times we shared.
